Cold Open Drinks And Ducks

Mike

Record.

SPEAKER_06

From our humble backyard studio, this is the almost famous radio podcast with your host Jeffrey McJefferson. Let's go.

SPEAKER_01

I did record this time, Mike. Oh, it works better that way.

SPEAKER_02

Uh let's go around the paybile. What is the drinking ringette?

Rayette

Well, this is really hard to guess, but Dutch broke. What's the party ball? Told you I'm trying to be good right now.

Mike

Where'd the southern accent come from? She blew that one. I found it. Hey, of course. Ah, blood orange surge, baby.

SPEAKER_05

Blood orange surge.

Mike

It ain't broke, don't fix it. Is that one of those stupid things?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Let's try that.

Jeffy McJefferson

You couldn't use that. And I got volatile substance from Von E. Burt. Can't see it because the seven-time world national championship uh koozie in there. Oh god.

Mike

So you know, this is the duck's year. We're ranked number two in the polls.

unknown

Yeah.

Mike

That means and Ohio State. That sounds right. We're ahead of Oklahoma.

Overused Phrases We Can’t Stand

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, sure. So I'm I I was thinking about this topic probably because I always hear a st a phrase saying Did you see that ducks game? And I was it's like I almost have never said that. It's like overused phrases.

Mike

Another month from now you're rehearing it again.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, yeah, I'm sure. Well, yeah, we'll all be hearing it. Right. So I just thought, hey man, let's let's do this.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, so you walked right into that.

Jeffy McJefferson

That's funny because I was thinking about saying it earlier and he I didn't he pulled it up. Damn it. Yeah. Sorry. So I'm chopping it up with Ray It and Mike. And that's that's I'm starting with that phrase because I hate it. And then the chopping it up. It's so a lot of people say that nowadays. You know, you hear it on talk radio and stuff. Yeah, we're chopping it up with so-and-so and so-and-so. And um, and that's I promise everybody, it's the last time I'm gonna use it and like that for sure. It sounds kind of dumb, doesn't it? It really does.

Rayette

Sounds like it should be on a cooking show.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, that would work. Yeah. Or, you know, serial killers.

SPEAKER_05

There you go. Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Or if l if Loranda Bobbit had a show. There you go. She could call it chopping it up. Chopping it up with That's perfect. Clip and snip. And if you don't know who Loranda Bobbit is, Google it. Google it. And you'll understand what the hell we're talking about.

Mike

So I know that the modern-day circumcision, oil, different kind.

Jeffy McJefferson

Boy honey. And as usual, us guys would have said, hey, okay, when I got that fixed, you know, that's a doc. If you can add a few more inches on that son of a bitch. Go on cosmetic, do it right. Do it. Go big or go home. There's one. There's one. Boy, isn't that that's that's an overused son of a bitch. I mean, go big or go home. Yeah, that's that's been if you're at hometown buffet, that's not good.

Mike

If you're at hometown buffet anyway, it's not good, but yeah. Different colors with the same taste. Hometown buffet had good fried chicken though. Nah, dude. I it's that must be why it closed down here.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. Well, little do they know that there's gonna be 17,000 chicken joints here.

SPEAKER_05

That's right.

Jeffy McJefferson

They're racking them up. They're racking them up. So I know Raya said she had some because but she wouldn't divulge those yesterday, I guess, because she's keeping it secret. What's one that you don't like or is overused, or what?

Rayette

That's what she said.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, that one that one is like that one is it's a little overused.

Mike

Not very original. It is, man. And but I never say that's what he said.

Rayette

Because he never says anything worth a shit.

Mike

There you go.

Jeffy McJefferson

Right. That is one. It's like shit.

SPEAKER_06

No comeback on that one.

Jeffy McJefferson

I have nothing on that one. I was gonna I was gonna defer to Mike because I thought he had an answer for damn near everything like that, and he didn't. Shut I'm still on my first search. I haven't got my creativity quite yet.

Krista

Yeah, sure. Oh, is that what it is?

SPEAKER_06

No pregame today.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, yeah. Yeah, we're in the early pregame today, so yeah. Maybe I'll shut up.

Rayette

This is probably the soberest podcast ever.

Jeffy McJefferson

Probably it's early. Because I had one and that was it, and now I'm on this one. So yeah.

Mike

Yeah. That's what she said. So normally it's referring to some type of penis size. I think it is.

Rayette

Is it?

Mike

Yeah, normally.

Rayette

Really? I didn't know that.

Mike

Or it could be that's what your mother said. I think that's what your mom said or whatever.

Jeffy McJefferson

I think I don't know, man. Anytime something like that says sexual references, something like that. Or I don't even know. Man, well, you might have to Google that for it. Oh, you got stuff up. Never mind. But yeah, that's what she said.

unknown

Okay.

Rayette

Oh, it was popularized heavily by shows like The Office.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, but that was even before The Office was there.

Rayette

Oh no. It was popular popularized by that.

Mike

Okay.

Rayette

So it was probably before that, and then they started saying it on there, and then everybody was there.

Jeffy McJefferson

They're the ones that ruined it.

Rayette

Because it's the Office. It got big and whatever.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, 6'7 shit's dumb, too.

Rayette

Oh, that was on my list. I don't even know what the hell that means, but it is so stupid.

Mike

Is that the thing the kids are saying now? 6'7.

Rayette

6'7.

Mike

I don't know.

Jeffy McJefferson

Grandson pulled that on the floor. What if you're a basketball player and you were 6'7? God, everyone.

Rayette

Well, who's gonna question him when he says it? Nobody. Because he's looking down on your ass, going, Who's got a better than I'm gonna do? I'll show you who's six seven.

Jeffy McJefferson

Six seven.

unknown

Yeah.

Rayette

But I just don't even I don't I know. It's just dumb.

Mike

I uh there's gotta be something behind it, but I don't know what it is.

Rayette

I heard that if like your kids keep saying it, then you just go eight nine ten and it pisses them off. Like just start counting after them. And they're like six seven, you just go eight, nine, ten.

Mike

Yeah, but nowadays these kids get above ten and they don't know what you're talking about. Or you can sort of run out of fingers.

Jeffy McJefferson

Or you can slap their lips off, and then we don't have to fucking worry about six, seven anymore. There you go.

Rayette

Yeah, I would have stopped that in my house.

Mike

Oh god, that would that would have

Kid Talk And The Count To Three

Mike

been okay. Since we're on kids, here's the one that drives me nuts. Let's do it. One, two. It's like, what do you do if you get the three and the kid doesn't stop doing what they're supposed to do?

Rayette

Dude, you beat their ass.

Mike

Well, how about my dad's either one, two, three was his belt went click, like, oh, I should stop now. Yeah, that's one. And then there is no two.

SPEAKER_06

Pull it out.

Mike

You count the three, and the kid looks at you and keeps doing it like, now what?

SPEAKER_06

Or and then you go three and a half.

Jeffy McJefferson

Right.

SPEAKER_06

Or two and a half.

Jeffy McJefferson

And then you have two and three quarters. The parents like, don't make me do this now. You know, it should have already been done. Take care of the little fucker. I mean, take care of the little fucker.

Mike

Yeah. Shit.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, I think I never won two threed.

Mike

No. I I think that was the dumbest thing ever. Yeah. That's the worst thing.

Rayette

I probably did, but I never got to three. Oh, it's because their ass would have been whooped.

Mike

One. Smack.

Jeffy McJefferson

Ha, kid ya.

Rayette

Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

It was a that was less than a half of one, and their ass was already kicked.

Mike

You know, it's not easy being a parent. They don't always need a friend, they need a parent. And if you discipline right, you don't have to do it right all. You don't really have to. Kids just want to know where the lion is, and once you establish it, they're good.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. That's good, good counting.

Mike

You know, every species on the planet has survival of the fittest. You know, the weakest get picked off at the back that herd and the ones in front breed. We take the ones in the back, put them in the front, and subsidize them. You know what? Here you go. You got plenty of time. Go have babies. And count to them.

Jeffy McJefferson

And then I'll and then they kneel down to get to the same level as the kid because to talk to him and soft parent. Yeah. Negotiating with a three-year-old is not easy.

Rayette

No.

Jeffy McJefferson

Sorry. I'm standing, I'm standing over you, man. Just like you know, like I fucking just scored a touchdown on your ass, man, and you know stuff. No. You know, speaking of touchdowns. Yeah.

Mike

That last touchdown the duck scored. Mm-hmm. Valuable. Yeah.

Krista

Where were we? How valuable was that? Yeah. He wasn't 6'7.

Jeffy McJefferson

So clap clap back.

SPEAKER_05

Clap back?

Jeffy McJefferson

You're clapping back. You know, saying, you know, if somebody says something, oh, you clap back. Yeah.

Rayette

I don't know that I've heard that one much.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, that's I'll be honest. That's it, man.

SPEAKER_06

You got the clap back?

Jeffy McJefferson

There's a cream for that record. There's an ointment. I thought that was a Rams thing.

Mike

Oh God. God, if he shows up at the uh store this year, we will not we will not know him until the Rams do something. And you're gonna hear that. We're all gonna turn around and look at him. I won't remember the face this time.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, one guy that I I clapped for, you know, last week, then you were right behind him and stuff like that. And I go, all right, because I was making it sound like, hey, dude, man, Mike's here. And he was in that snapper jersey. And he came back yesterday.

Rayette

Just dressed normal, though.

Jeffy McJefferson

No, he had a ram shirt.

Rayette

Oh, he did? Oh, I didn't see that.

Jeffy McJefferson

He didn't have a jersey, but he had a ram shirt with cut-off sleeves.

Rayette

And under the table, I was like, They've been coming in a lot lately.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah.

Mike

Do you remember what the guy looked like at all?

Jeffy McJefferson

Uh vaguely.

Mike

I have no no.

Jeffy McJefferson

He's kind of poigned, wasn't he?

unknown

No, I don't know.

Mike

I just I I don't know. But as a Niners fan, I instantly took a disliking. Well, sure. What about here's an overused phrase, last several years.

Krista

Yeah.

Mike

The Niners are injured again?

unknown

Fuck.

Mike

Well, that's a fact. Oh, Jesus, it's already started. Ricky Pearsall, first play in practice of the done. Out for the air. Wasn't Shanahan hurt first? Yeah. Correct, yeah. Yeah. It's it's uh here

Facebook Speak And Fake Friends

Mike

we go. So damn electric power plant.

Jeffy McJefferson

So you don't have I know, and they keep showing that. But there's also like the shit on Facebook, if anybody caught or if they post something, and the phrase now that pisses me off is like, I'll take things that never happened for 500, Alex.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

That shit is god. Thank God you're not on Facebook, dude, because that is all the time.

Mike

Do you know why I don't do social media? Yeah, well. I think the funniest thing in the world is I had a patient who was moving, and I I said, You got you got, you know, you're doing movers? He goes, No, I've got over 400 Facebook friends. Guess how many showed up? Zero. So when you say I've got Facebook friends, you've got people you never met in your life, and you go back and forth. Yeah. I that's really hard to call a friend. I mean, in my day, you had to meet somebody to become their friend.

Rayette

I think I'd like everybody on my Facebook friends.

Mike

Good.

Rayette

Like they're either cla old classmates or like Yeah. You know, friends from scrapbooking or family or I mean, I I can't say I probably have a handful or so of people that I've never met, but I've probably interacted with them in some way, shape, or form that that's why they're on my Facebook.

Jeffy McJefferson

I don't go out looking for, and I'm air quoting since we don't have the camera, Facebook friends or f you know and stuff like that. I don't go out looking for Facebook.

Rayette

I don't care whether I have three or six hundred.

Mike

Well, here's a term that Facebook brought up that I don't like is I unfriended you. How do you how do you unfriend me?

Rayette

Big deal.

Mike

That was a that was we won't show what Raya did. Okay, she was using the J-O-me. Yeah. But I mean, how do you unfriend somebody? It's like I how about you say that blocked you?

Jeffy McJefferson

I blocked. You know, I know if somebody pisses me off, I just block them and say, fuck him. I don't I don't need you.

Rayette

Life's too short to worry about that shit, man. Life is way too short.

unknown

Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

That's why I don't do something.

Rayette

You know another phrase that irritates me? Yeah. YOLO.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh. What's that?

Rayette

You only live once. Oh.

Jeffy McJefferson

That one's when YOLO is way overused too. All I could think about was BOGO there. Well, she likes Bogo.

Rayette

I like Bogo. You're the Koopon queen. That's in my coupons.

Jeffy McJefferson

Being that. Yeah, being the coupon queen. She loves BOGO. Yeah.

Rayette

So Love me a BOGO.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. And then a yoga. Yeah.

Class Reunion Without Social Media

Mike

Here's the thing. By me not doing Facebook or any media. I had my 40-year class reunion last weekend. I think I told you this, but I mean, it was so weird walking to a place with a bunch of people who, since I haven't been to the 10, 20, or 30, I looked at these people and they're like, Mike, one woman came up and almost had relations with me, and I had no clue who she was. I mean, just sitting there with all these people going, I I recognize some, some people I could tell. Sure. But some people it was like, I sat there and I just tried to remember something.

Rayette

Because you didn't see any reminders on Facebook throughout the years.

Mike

I haven't seen people change. I mean, to me, they all would look like we'd have been graduated.

Rayette

I'm you know right, right.

Mike

Some didn't. But I was sitting there with one across the table with this girl, and I was like, Some of them had a lot of botox. There was and we did have a one star show up. She was my first girlfriend. I was looking, and I didn't recognize her. Like, Mike, I'm like, Jerry Johnson. Like, holy shit. Okay. But I mean, it was there was there were several times where all of a sudden clicked. Yeah. And I and I did. I saw her and I was like, oh my God. I said, and she goes, I thought you were just blowing me off. I'm like, no, I'm just trying hard to put faces to people.

Rayette

No, but you blew me off once, I bet. Did you say that?

Mike

No, I remember when you blew me off? But it was it was a really awkward thing. I'd never been in something like that.

Rayette

Yeah.

Mike

And I there was this one person sitting next to one of our classmates, and I seriously thought it was like a parent who was disabled and had they were watching and had and had them there because they looked literally 70-something years old. Yeah. And as we went to the next venue, they gave us five name cut cards, and he walked by me and said, Mike, how you doing? I'm like, looked down and was like, shit, you're one of us.

SPEAKER_05

Damn.

Mike

And I just and I just I just like, oh.

SPEAKER_05

That'd be rough.

Mike

Yes. That wouldn't be rough. I truly thought it was one of one of our parents.

Jeffy McJefferson

I don't go to class reading.

Mike

I well, I don't think I'll try the next one.

Rayette

I went to my tenure, that was it.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, but you're a smoking hot dress then.

Rayette

We had a really good time that night. Had a little black dress.

Jeffy McJefferson

Hey, YOLO. Yeah. Yeah, YOLO. Now where is that black dress?

Rayette

I just gave it away. Actually.

Mike

What now? When did you graduate?

Rayette

Eighty-eight.

Mike

Okay, you're two years older than me. You should have saved it. Forty's coming up.

Rayette

I'm hoping not to be able to fit in it. Actually, I think it would be too big right now. Maybe.

Mike

It should be. Tell the person you gave it to that I'm gonna need that back in two years.

Rayette

I don't want to fit into that in two years.

Mike

Oh, okay. I see.

Rayette

Yes.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well remember where you remember where you got it and then get a couple sizes smaller, however many you are now.

Rayette

That was 30 years ago. I don't remember where that came from.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, we'll try.

Rayette

Boy, that sounds like a really long time.

Jeffy McJefferson

It was.

Rayette

Maybe that was my 20-year class reunion. It would have been my 20 years.

Jeffy McJefferson

I was gonna say wait.

Rayette

Not 10.

Jeffy McJefferson

I knew you then.

Rayette

Yeah. I didn't know you 30 years ago.

Jeffy McJefferson

No.

Rayette

Okay, so it was my 20-year class. Still, I had that dress for 20 years almost. That's a long time. It's time for a new dress.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, there you go. If you can get something similar to that, man, I'd be a happy boy. Think you'll make it to the reunion? I'll go to hers. But yeah. And it would be a game

Sports Cliches And Buzzwords

Jeffy McJefferson

changer. And see, that's one that I that I need to stop using because it's like way overuse. Yeah, game changer. Oh, it's a game changer.

Mike

You know. But on that same note, the one that it's not even a word, but now it's used all the time. It says, oh, the physicality is incredible there. What is physicality? I mean, they're physical. Yeah. You know, it's it's it's hard hitters, but oh, there's physicality. That's not even a word.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. I like slobber knocker better than that. Slobber knockers? You ever heard that? You never heard, huh? Oh, this is a downright slobber knocker. There's a lot of physicality in a in a football game, as they call it a slobber knocker.

Rayette

I've never heard that.

Mike

I had a totally different picture on slobber knockers. Southern guys, that's a slobber knocker. He's thinking of knockers. Southern guys like country music? Yeah. I'm sure they do. Most. Yeah, most. Alice and Changed, great country band. They are awesome. They're obviously one of my favorite bands. I've liked every song and my phone on them. Well, yeah. Surprisingly enough. And you should.

Rayette

Hopefully they come on every other song for you at least.

Mike

I was going to Ben and got in a spot where there's no internet. And so the only songs I could listen to are ones I've already listened to, and I just happened to be in the Alice and Change loop. I was like, oh, perfect.

unknown

Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Man of the city. He's mentioning that because what he's doing is being a smart ass, is what he's being everybody. And I commandeered his phone. DJ Jazzy Jeff. Yeah. Yeah. And played a lot. You know, Ricker loves Alice and Chains, so I played a lot of Alice and Chain's song too.

Rayette

And your favorite hit of them.

unknown

Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Somehow I liked every one of them.

Rayette

I don't think I hit like.

Mike

They wouldn't be on my liked music if you hadn't. Well, you you know, you I think you did. They're called smartphones.

Rayette

I think you did, though.

Mike

Can't beat a football. I might have.

Rayette

Okay, here's another one.

Mike

Okay.

Rayette

It is what it is.

Mike

Oh yes. Good point. It is what it is. What is it? What it is.

SPEAKER_05

What it is.

Mike

Can you change what it is? I guess. Not if it is. But if but if not.

SPEAKER_05

But if it was.

Mike

Well then it wasn't. What it is. Or when somebody just walks in and goes, what it is. What's that?

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. What it is, brother. It is. It is. Thanks. What it is.

unknown

Yeah.

Rayette

You're just proving how dumb it is.

Mike

Yeah.

Rayette

Yeah.

Mike

I mean here's one that that it you know, we get so used to saying it, we don't think about it. But I was talking to somebody from Scotland one time. They goes, you know, you Americans, when you ask how somebody's doing, you don't really care. So if you ask us, we care. So we'll sit, we'll sit and talk. But if you walk up to somebody and said, How you doing? If they really stopped and told you how they're doing, you'd be like, fuck, I don't have time for this. I didn't really mean it.

Rayette

I mean, you're probably 100% true, right there.

Mike

I mean, if I was saying how you doing, somebody just started breaking down and giving up me their life story. I'm like, dude, I'm sorry I said that.

Jeffy McJefferson

I'm guilty of saying that.

Mike

We all do.

Jeffy McJefferson

How are you doing? How are you doing?

Mike

Yeah, and then it's a good thing. But if anybody answered, you'd be like, Yeah. What the hell? I mean, like, are we having a moment? Dude, yeah. Yeah.

Rayette

And you'd be like, I didn't sign up for this.

Mike

Yeah, geez. Does this term therapist on my front door? You open that door. Luckily, nobody ever walks through it.

Rayette

And if they do, one day someone will.

Mike

Oh, and they're gonna be nutty enough fruitcake.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, yeah. It did happen to you that one twisted tea guy. Oh, yeah. Uh-huh. Good point.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, that's right.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay. That was like I said. Okay, I just said it. Saw it right off. But yeah, that was like dude, man.

Rayette

Yeah, that's a good example right there.

Mike

Yeah, he that would make me never want to say that again. Yeah. Now, if I say it in my office, I expect people to tell me. But when you're not about, let's just go, hi.

unknown

Hi.

Mike

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Hi.

Mike

And they'll be like, oh, you want to know how I'm doing?

Jeffy McJefferson

No.

unknown

No.

Mike

No, not really.

Jeffy McJefferson

No. Oh, here's oh, okay. When you ask somebody, hey, how's it going? And then they go, it's going.

Rayette

It's going. It's going. Hi. I know you hate it.

Jeffy McJefferson

I fucking hate that. I mean, that is lamer than shit, dude. And so many people do that all the time. Hey, how's it going? It's going. Thanks. That's not an answer.

Rayette

It's another beautiful day.

Jeffy McJefferson

That's Tom.

Rayette

I know. That's what Tom says all the time. It's another beautiful day.

Jeffy McJefferson

How's it going, Tom? Another beautiful day.

Rayette

That's okay, though. Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

I don't mind that answer. It's better than it's going. Yep.

Rayette

Yeah, I don't hate that answer.

Jeffy McJefferson

No, I don't hate that answer. That's fine. But that's but pretty good comeback.

Mike

But it's going. Short to the point. You're not trying to have a breakdown.

Jeffy McJefferson

It beats the ever loving shit out of it. It's going. It's going. Where's it going? God, I I hate that shit. I'm like, not an answer. Like I said before, I did that, you know, did that to Delaney, you know, my boss. I was like, how's it going? It's going. I go, Yeah, kind of not an answer, man.

Mike

Well, I know one thing you don't like when some people text and they just use letters like, Are you? Are you in? K. Wrong one to use. K. K will gets me. I text you one time and you get back to me like, oh, I hate that.

Jeffy McJefferson

Dude, I'm looking at my keyboard right now, and the O is just right there above the K and to the right. Didn't have time to pull it off. And yeah, if your time is that valuable where you can put the O in front of it, well then shit. If I are Ricker does it all the time. Ricker does it all the time. Bro gets it all the time. They put K. And I'm like, what are you, a valley girl? Shit. Gag me. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Gag me.

Jeffy McJefferson

Gag me with a spin. At least those went away. Some of these other fuckers ain't going away, these other sayings and shit. But yeah, K, that's that gets me every time. I'm like, oh, dude, stop.

Rayette

How about keep keep on? Or what is it?

Jeffy McJefferson

Keep keep on keeping on.

Rayette

Keep calm and carry on.

Mike

Keep calm and carry on. What if I don't want to be calm? What if I don't want to carry on? There you go. What if I want to carry on, but I don't want to be calm.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, man, if I was going to carry on, dude, if I was going to carry on, I sure as hell don't want to keep calm.

Mike

No.

Jeffy McJefferson

I want to go. I want to fuck the I'm going to fuck shit up.

Mike

I don't got so much time left. I'm going to have fun doing it.

Jeffy McJefferson

If I want to carry on, dude. I I boom. I want to hit that hard. That's why I don't want to go to cost you anymore.

Mike

Hanging out with old people is not fun.

Jeffy McJefferson

This says calling any anyone who does anything slightly annoying a narcissist.

Mike

Narcissism? That's that's that's a whole nother class itself.

Krista

It's kind of you know.

Mike

Yeah. Oh just ask a narcissist, they're never wrong.

Rayette

Bae.

Mike

B A E.

Rayette

B-A-E.

Jeffy McJefferson

What's that?

Rayette

Like instead of saying like babe, I'd be like, hey, bae.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, that shit just sounds like that. That shit kind of went away, thank God.

Rayette

Oh, that's the other one is bruh.

Jeffy McJefferson

Bruh.

Rayette

Bay and bruh.

Jeffy McJefferson

Bruh. Hey, bruh.

Rayette

God, those irritate me.

Mike

Hey brah.

Rayette

Especially someone like Amari was actually doing that for a while.

Mike

Bruh.

Rayette

Hey, bruh. I'm like, I'm not your bruh.

Mike

I don't mind bruh, but bruh is still bro.

Rayette

Right. Bruh is okay.

Mike

Where did you get the UH? It's not even in brother.

Rayette

I don't know. And I love my bae.

unknown

What?

Jeffy McJefferson

That's something vegans would say. San Franciscans can say that because they do have a bay. I love my bay. I love my bay. Damn, I had one on top of my head too, and then and then I totally forgot because you went bay on it. I was like, damn. You you really did get to him on that one. Thanks a lot, Bay. Um, let's see. Yeah, bae. But there is oh god, what was it? Damn, I'm pissed up. Well, I'm kind of just going through shit here. Oh, oh, oh.

Trendy Sayings We Keep Repeating

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay, and this isn't it, but now people like call themselves boy mom or boy dad or girl dad or girl mom or like baby mama? It's like, dude, you're you're a mom, you're a dad. Oh. I gotcha. Good point.

Rayette

I think that started with like hats and stuff like that and t-shirts.

Mike

Well, can't be more annoying than baby on board, that sticker. Oh. Like, I give a shit. I'm not gonna rear into you anyway. Oh, yeah, I know. Baby on board.

Jeffy McJefferson

And I couldn't give her I couldn't give a rat's S if a fucking baby's on.

Rayette

I think that started though as like a thing like if you got in a wreck, you had those bright yellow signs that like EMS could tell that you had a baby on there. But what if you didn't have your baby on there that day?

Mike

And does it really matter?

Rayette

Do you are you taking the sign out?

Mike

And if I'm I'd rather look at that side, oh god, I was gonna come up rear end you, but yeah, well, you got a kid in there, shit.

Rayette

Well, and now they've changed it to where it's just like a sticker, and it could be baby Yoda on board or baby like they've changed it so much that the actual reason they came out with that is Oh, I didn't even know there was a reason. Null and void now. Like Yeah, they would do the It was like a precaution thing at first, I think, is why it came out.

Mike

Don't you think that MS people would open the door and see the baby?

Rayette

I mean, what if you're like upside down or something? I don't know. I mean, I get why it was started, but they've taken it so far that they took the FU out of fun.

Jeffy McJefferson

Damn, dude, you almost got me on a drink there, some bitch. Man, that was almost a sprinkler system on that. Oh, okay. I do remember the one. I was today years old when I found that out.

Rayette

Or when I learned. I was today's years old when I learned.

Jeffy McJefferson

Today, years old. Not not like one year old or whatever. I was today year year old when I found this. And people say that shit. That didn't even really make sense.

Mike

Thank you. Okay, good. I just make sure we're on the same page.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, we're on the same page. That's why that's why we're doing that. We're educating everybody. EduMcated. EduMicated.

Rayette

EduMicated.

Jeffy McJefferson

Golly, people listen to this show and get educated. What was it in the 90s when it was hooked on phonics? Yeah, it worked for a lot of people. I see that they they used to have the hooked on uh uh hooked on phonics shirts, man. That was kind of funny, but they spelled phonics wrong. Should be an F. P-H-O-N-I-K-S or something like that, and it was really kind of funny. Yeah. How about adulting? Adulting. Adulting. I have to, you know, adult today, or it's adulting. You know, sorry, some people have to be off themselves. This thing says paying bills and doing laundry are not heroic feats. They're Tuesday. Yeah.

Krista

Well, everybody wants a trophy.

SPEAKER_05

Used to be the person who got the trophy was who won.

Mike

Now it's just participated.

Jeffy McJefferson

And see, that's another one, the participation trophy, man. That's kind of fucking stupid.

Mike

Oh, it's totally. If you want a trophy, work harder. Oh, do you hear that sound? Oh, it's my artistic skills getting better.

Jeffy McJefferson

It's coming. Look out, folks, it's coming.

SPEAKER_05

I've been a little rusty, sorry. He's getting lubed up.

Jeffy McJefferson

Podcast lube.

SPEAKER_05

Is that what that is?

Jeffy McJefferson

Just saying. Just saying. Just saying. Just saying.

SPEAKER_05

People use that all the time. Just saying.

Mike

You know, getting lubed up.

Krista

Is it weird that lubricant sounds like lubricant? I mean, there's some brilliance in that word.

SPEAKER_05

Like lube, my yeah.

Krista

Lubricant.

Mike

If you just kind of reverse to it, because you know it's just a lube of love.

Rayette

I mean, you're not wrong. I know.

Jeffy McJefferson

Otherwise I'd call it lubricant. Luberdick. Luber scarf starfish.

Mike

It could be called so many things. Of course, now I mean it could be lube her dick, too, because you know, we can all be.

Rayette

You never know. You never know anymore.

Mike

There's some guy at the podcast of somebody, and he'll go literally into where all like the gays and trannies are in their in a barge or pride thing ever, and he will basically come in and say, I'm black Superman. Like, you're not black. Well, that's my fantasy. What are you here? Which fantasy do you hear for? And he he records all this, and he got he pisses him off.

Jeffy McJefferson

I would piss him off.

Mike

Yeah. It's like, wait a minute, what why am I if I'm not, what are you? What the you can't throw common sense into that. It just wouldn't work.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. Yeah. It's kind of crazy, man. Let's see. Oh, meltdowns a lot. Now meltdowns used a lot. Oh, you had a meltdown. You know. Oh, look at this guy. He's having a meltdown. Just a puddle of flesh. I don't really mind that one.

Mike

It's a bit it explains what they're going through. It's a great edge.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. Yeah, I had a meltdown. God, that fucker melted down like three fucking mile island. That's a bit meltdown. That has to be where it came from. Maybe.

unknown

Maybe.

Jeffy McJefferson

I'm not sure that they correlated that, but that's how I did it. So that works. Take that fucker's.

Mike

Hey, here's one thing that I'm getting tired of because I'm wondering what's the next letter in the G B T Q L Q. What's I what's the next letter? Eventually, they're gonna steal the entire alphabet.

Jeffy McJefferson

I don't know, man.

Mike

I mean, the leprechauns used to own the rainbow. They took that away. Did they own the rainbow? Now they're taking our alphabet. I mean, come on.

Jeffy McJefferson

We don't well, yeah. I mean, that is kind of freaking weird. You know. But I get I don't really that doesn't really all the letters, it doesn't bother me. It's there, it's it's getting longer though. It used to be LBT. Well, they put plus at the end, so they don't have to worry about any more letters. Oh, plus, etc. etc. They put plus at the end, so then that I think they're done.

Rayette

They're covered, I guess.

Jeffy McJefferson

Plus.

Mike

Yeah. So plus means eventually heterosexual white male will be included. Yeah.

Rayette

So we get all those bennies too?

Mike

Yeah. There you go.

Rayette

All right. I mean, how about when you ask someone how they're doing and they're like, Living the dream.

Mike

Dude. It turns out a nightmare and a dream are very similar.

Jeffy McJefferson

They are.

Mike

They do see that.

Jeffy McJefferson

They occur at the same time. Living the dream. I'm glad you brought that up because that is that is an irritating sign.

Rayette

That's another one. Like, it's going.

Jeffy McJefferson

It's going.

Rayette

Living the dream. Yeah.

Mike

And normally when it says live in the dream, they're being it sarcastically. They're not like, I am so goddamn happy. No. I don't just try to avoid what I'm dealing with today. But to say, oh, that sucks.

Jeffy McJefferson

Dumbass. We don't need to live in the dream. Okay. Well, what's a dream? Dumb shit. I don't know. And then then somebody on the beach in Hawaii and you ask that.

Mike

I get that.

Rayette

Mine is winning the lottery and living on a beach.

Mike

Yeah.

Rayette

Like, okay.

Mike

If you answer me on the beach in Hawaii with that, I'm gonna like good call.

Rayette

Yeah. If you answer me at the office, that I get to go to work 10 hours a day and you know to make ends meet and blah, blah, blah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. Living the dream, motherfucker. Are you fucking kidding me? No thanks. Yeah. I I that one bothers me too, man. And and also, you know, I know that he didn't make this up, but every other Jeff Foxworthy and and cable guy guy saying and shit like that, they fucking bug me the shit. That one's worse. Oh god, he's that one's that one is probably of all those dumbass things that those fucking whatever they're called, comic deal that they do. What caller comedy? Yeah.

Mike

Ron White was the best one.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, Ron White was good.

Mike

He was an offshoot, man, because he was. He was clean on those. You get him on a regular one. I golfed with him once. That fucker, I mean, he's he's uh he's a hoot.

Jeffy McJefferson

Dude, I remember you telling that story. But I mean, I've seen him on his own. And he I mean, not live, but I've seen him on like a special one. Fucker's funny. Yeah, he's hilarious. Yeah, and these guys, you know, these other guys, I could just do without, man. I just could. You know, and and and gosh, get her done. Man, if I get her done. Oh man, I don't You might be a redneck. That was lost.

Mike

Yeah, that one too. You might be a redneck. But you know, it made them richer than us. So that catchphrase. Well, it did.

Jeffy McJefferson

I mean, I mean, good for them.

Mike

I'm gonna start going with YOLO.

Krista

No.

Jeffy McJefferson

Go YOLO. Okay, lubricant. Lubricant. That's my new saying.

Rayette

We just had that a little conversation about that word.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. We did, because we were at like three minutes ago. I was here. Well, no, no, no, no. I mean, we were covered in the second. Yeah. Okay.

When Certain Words Cross A Line

Jeffy McJefferson

And Rick Jason's brother, he says he loves the word. And his chick loves the word. Cunt. Oh, gotcha. I was like, lubricant? No, the cunt part. Lubricant. No, but he's you know, using that word. And but he used it, he said he uses it in the joke. Oh, yeah, cunt, yeah. Something like that. But I was like, dude, I'll be honest with you, man. The only time I ever use that word is when I'm pissed. Yeah, that's somebody's fucked up. Yeah.

Rayette

They asked me if I liked it, and I said, absolutely.

Jeffy McJefferson

That's something you use in the bedroom. I knew damn well you didn't like it. That's you know, I said, I don't think you know she didn't like it.

unknown

No.

Jeffy McJefferson

Normally it's it's your white.

Mike

It's a hard word. It's a harsh word. It's one of those up there.

Krista

Yeah.

Mike

It's up there with the N-word. There's the C word and N-word. Well, the N-word's probably worse. Well, only if you're a white guy. If you're a black guy, you can say it. Now the C word applies to any color.

Jeffy McJefferson

But but the black guys don't use the hard ER at the end of it. Oh, it's uh, yeah. Yeah.

Rayette

Yeah, that's true.

Jeffy McJefferson

So that's a big difference.

Mike

Everyone on a podcast and we still don't say the word. No. No. No. No. You know what irritates me? It is an evil word, dude. Well, yeah. But I mean, the whole thing about racism is like if we want to get rid of racism, which I think we would if the media would just shut up, just say this happened between two Americans, two guys, to this. Why does it have to be a black guy or a white guy? Do they ever bring it up when it's an Asian guy? An Asian man and a white cop got into an altercation. No. Have you ever heard that? Oh. No. No. I mean, the whole way that the media reports everything, it just keeps promoting this racist thing about look at the black against the white. Just say two Americans. Does it have to be African American? No. How about you're an American? I don't if you're not from Africa. You were born in Detroit. What tie do you have to Africa?

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, I know a lot of, you know, a lot of black people, man, that don't like the African-American term. I bet. Well, just call me an American. Yeah.

Mike

That's how you get rid of racism. You quit identifying people as something other than a male American. Huh? There you go.

Rayette

Oh, I know one.

Jeffy McJefferson

Uh oh.

Rayette

You you brought this one up yesterday. Chef's kiss.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, yeah, chef kiss. Yeah, hello. Oh, the cuff.

Rayette

Oh, it was a chef's kiss.

Jeffy McJefferson

Chef tasted it. Wonderful.

Rayette

That's up there with that doesn't suck.

Mike

I like that saying. Do you like that saying? Well, it doesn't suck. Yeah. Sort of. That's a way of saying it's it's not bad, but it's not that good either.

Rayette

Oh, is that really what that means? That's why I that brings a whole new meaning to that word that's a good thing. Well, it doesn't suck.

Jeffy McJefferson

When it was great, I'd say, God, that was fantastic. Well, it doesn't suck.

Rayette

Huh.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, if I bought an adult toy that was supposed to suck and it didn't suck, I'd be pissed. Well, there you go. Well, it doesn't suck. I'd like to return to the symptom.

Mike

Yeah. You need lubricant. Lubricant. Yeah. Go with the water-based. You got one?

Rayette

No.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, I thought you had one ready to cued up.

Rayette

I was thinking of the word literally.

Jeffy McJefferson

Man, I use that a lot. I know.

Rayette

I I think I find myself using it a little bit here and there too. Literally.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. Literally.

Mike

But I remember say it like literally. Literally. Remember Chad, the bartender there? Yeah. Used to always use the term 100%. 100%.

Jeffy McJefferson

Ray It does too. That's 100%.

Mike

He'd come up, he'd say it like a maybe 99. Yeah. She's 100%. People have catchphrases they use all the time. Just like Jason uses snap.

Jeffy McJefferson

That's another one that sucks, man. Oh, snap. Snap. What's snap? Oh, snap. Yeah. That one's like way old and way older. Yeah, that is old. But yeah, he does use all snap and and it doesn't suck. Yeah. He does that a lot. Yeah.

Rayette

So does that mean it's not very good either? That's what Mike said.

SPEAKER_06

I wanted some clarification.

Jeffy McJefferson

It does make it broad. Okay, well, it doesn't suck. We just went into the great guy. It mildly sucks, right? Mildly sucks. Not that good, but it still sucks. It's not great. It's a tweener. It can't not suck. It's a tweener. It can't not suck if it's even mildly suck. Well, I mean, there's different levels of suck.

Mike

There's different levels of suck. One's 20 bucks an hour, one's 40.

Jeffy McJefferson

I'll pay the extra.

Mike

Okay. Yeah, I would upgrade. I like to upgrade on the suckers. And it's worth it. 100%.

Rayette

$100.

Mike

100%. Upgrades 100% worth it. $100? $100 make a holla.

Rayette

Just saying.

Mike

But it would suck. Bring your own if it's a BY B R O L. This wouldn't work.

Jeffy McJefferson

Bring your own lubricant. So what you know, if you if you if you had a one that offer you $20 and then one that offer you $100, you would think the $100 would be better. If they're offering me to do it. No, I'm just talking. I'm just saying. Okay. Just saying.

Rayette

How much is yours?

Jeffy McJefferson

Just saying. Just saying. There's the thing. Huh? Is yours a $20 or $100 an hour?

Mike

No. You got to think too. I mean, if if you're willing to ask $100, you're willing to ask $20. You're kind of a work and training ball.

Jeffy McJefferson

I just wonder though, you know, if you go up, I'm I'm gonna take the $100 because you would think that would be better than the $20. And then the $100 one didn't work out like you thought. You'd be like, man, I could have paid $20 for this buck.

Rayette

What if the $20 one doesn't have teeth? Does that make it better?

Mike

I'd probably pay the $20. No chance to get bit. Here's what I'd do. I mean, I'd go in there saying I'm gonna spend $100, but I think I'll get the $20 and have her do it five times. See? There you go. You get more bang for your buck. Right.

Rayette

What if you don't get the bang out of the buck?

Mike

Well, I mean and if and if the first one sucked, then yeah, okay, no way. If the 100 would suck, you're out of 100 bucks. Then do you go take your 20 is good, you get four more. Out of the four more.

Rayette

But if the 20 doesn't like if it sucks, and I don't mean in a good way.

Mike

Well, you just take your 80 and then do you take your 80 and offer to the hundred? Yeah, you gotta how about you give me 80% of that 100? Yeah, you have to. You have to offer to the hundred. Just but skip the beginning part, make sure you get to the end part. Make sure I get the finish, but I don't care about the beginning part. So just fast forward about 20 bucks. Fast forward about 20 bucks. Right.

Rayette

Skip the foreplay.

Mike

Yeah, I'm good with that. Yeah, just hey. Can we negotiate? You walked in with a plan. That's right. Can we negotiate this? Can I do you can I Jew you down?

Krista

There's another one.

Mike

Hey, how's this? Why is it nobody's 100% Jew? Everybody's Jewish. Why is that? Well, I wish I had an answer for that. They just don't want to admit it or what? It's like I'm Jewish-ish.

Jeffy McJefferson

I'm gonna use it. Next time I see my friend Jay, I'm gonna use that. Jay, are you Jewish? Yeah. You're not 100%. Jew, mother brother? What a percent are you? Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

That's hilarious. I've never heard of that one.

Mike

But you know, drew you down. Oh, there you go. I know. That's a they're they're known for that.

Rayette

They are. Why?

Mike

Well, it's the person who goes to a yard sale and something's marked for 50 cents. Like, would you take a quarter? Just take it for free because I don't want to argue with you. I'll pay you 50 cents to take that shit.

Rayette

I like when people come to my sales and ask me that because I flat down tell them no. One guy asked me, he says, I had two dollars on a thing of like juice.

Mike

A juice? You had Jews down there? Yeah. Jews. How many Jews? Oh, juice. My bad. I thought they were selling them now. Oh my god. He sells them for two bucks.

Rayette

Don't try to do me down either.

Mike

He started at four.

Rayette

But he goes, You take a dollar? I said, No, I'll take two. He goes, No, you take a dollar. I said, Nope, you can set it down and go to Walmart and pay $4.97. He paid the two dollars.

Jeffy McJefferson

His favorite Did he have a long nose? Jason's Jason's friend was up at car rides the other day, and she and Red kind of got mad at me for this, but they were talking about tattoos, you know, and how much they were and stuff like that. And I go, well, Germany used to give them away for free.

Krista

Fucking God. That's harsh. It's the fucking truth.

Mike

Yeah. Sure did. Yes. What do what do Michael Phelps and Adolf Hitler haven't or what's the difference between Michael Phelps and Adolf Hitler? Oh God. I don't know. Michael Phelps could finish a race. Oh no.

Rayette

And on that.

Mike

No, but I had a patient come in, and he's a tattoo artist. And he's a big guy. And he's got cats all over. And he said something that just slayed me. How's that per term? That's good. I can live with that. But he's talking about, dude, because you know, I said, I've been up where I'm like 270, I'm down to 230. And he said, I just kind of bounced back and forth. I said, Well, man, hey, you're remaking yourself. That's good. You're trying to get back in shape. He goes, Well, the the the reformer or the prison system will do that to you. And I'm like, oh shit, sorry.

SPEAKER_05

What? What?

Mike

He says, Yeah, when the food's not very good and you got nothing to do but work out, I tend to get in good shape.

Rayette

Oh my god.

Mike

Good on you.

Rayette

I was gonna ask for a recommendation for a tattoo, but I don't know.

Mike

But he said something else, which was kind of he married the same person twice.

Krista

Didn't marry the first time.

Mike

Yeah, I said, What? He goes, actually saved me a lot of money. I'm like, how? And how he goes, because that's the first time I divorced her, the kids were with me 85% of the time, but I had to pay 2,400 bucks in child support. I remarried her. Then they only had to pay her a thousand bucks when I divorced her the second time. Like, brilliant. You thought this one through.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my god.

Mike

I like this guy. He's cool, but he says some shit off the cuff. You're like, wow, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Huh.

Mike

He should be on this podcast. Yeah, you should.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

Mike

Yeah. Is he around here?

Rayette

Tell him bring his tattoo gun too.

Krista

Yeah.

Mike

I asked him, he said, Do you do any of those? And he goes, He said, Have you done any of those? He goes, Yeah, the ones I did are most have been covered up by somebody who's good.

Rayette

Okay, don't bring the tattoo gun.

Mike

Well, because he did them when he was in the correction system.

Rayette

I have enough bad tattoos.

Mike

He said, Now he's been doing it for nine years. You do it professionally, but he said I wasn't a professional when he did my first one.

Rayette

Oh, that makes sense.

Mike

I just had some free time.

Rayette

That makes sense.

Rent Free Thoughts And “Die On That Hill”

Jeffy McJefferson

I did find a couple real quick. Yep.

Rayette

Oh, back on topic, I mean.

Jeffy McJefferson

We strayed. Just for a second, then we'll stray again. Living rent-free in your head.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Dude.

Mike

He's living rent-free in your head. In other words, you said something stupid that I can't seem to get rid of. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I charge rent. You're gonna buy me a beer for that shit you just gave me.

Krista

That's right.

Mike

You ain't staying for free.

SPEAKER_06

You owe me a Dutch Rose, man.

Jeffy McJefferson

Son of a bitch. Party bum. Party bum. And living my best life. How many have you had? Sybil. Well, let's just live. You've said that before. Eh, she's living her best life. Like, eh.

Rayette

I did about a certain person.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah.

Rayette

Re kind of recently I said that.

Jeffy McJefferson

Said that about your daughter who wants Shane's. Yes. Yeah. Is that who you're talking about?

Rayette

Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay.

Mike

So if somebody's really sucking, you're like, God, she's living her worst life. Is there any way out of that, or do you only have one?

Rayette

I mean, good.

Mike

You mean it's like stay in your lane, bro?

Jeffy McJefferson

Stay in your lane's another one. Dude, stay in your lane's another one.

Mike

Know your role.

SPEAKER_06

Just keep Mike Mike talking. We'll pull him out.

Mike

We're pulling out. So in other words, all I do is pretty much say stupid comments that nobody likes. Yeah. Start to figure this out.

Rayette

We just needed you here for a reason.

Jeffy McJefferson

I just needed a little lubricant. I'm getting there. 47 minutes in, we got this. We got him. He's hooked. Tell me, tell me you whatever without telling me whatever. You know, because I like to say, oh, tell me you're an idiot without telling me you're an idiot. That's a lot of people like do. I mean, I'm just using idiots.

Rayette

They'll say like stuff like that. They'll input whatever word in there. Yeah.

Mike

Kind of dumb. It it's well, here's a funny thing. One of the caretakers for Karen, when she's telling me something, and some some people have this habit. Almost every third word out of her mouth is whatever. Well, whatever she and we did this and that and whatever, and then we came over and whatever. And I'm like, I start counting. And now I'm talking bit to know her pretty well. Sometimes after a sentence, I'll be like, five. You just said whatever five times in that sentence.

Rayette

Or like.

Mike

Like oh, you like?

Rayette

Like is another one that you're doing. Every third word is like like.

Jeffy McJefferson

Guilty of that sometimes when I'm trying to think of something. I'm like, I like, like, like, like, like. Or you know. You know, too. I'm guilty of that too.

Mike

Yeah. But whatever is like, what does whatever have to do with anything you're telling me? One thing, and I I say this a lot.

Jeffy McJefferson

I say this a lot. Yeah. Like, I'll die on that hill. Are you going to die on that hill or die on that hill?

SPEAKER_05

I'll die on that hill.

Mike

Well, it means you're you're committed. I say that. I mean that to me it's like You do say that sometimes.

Rayette

I do.

Mike

I say that. But you didn't come back and say, would you really? You're going to die on the hill? It's a good thing to say, but are you really going to do it? Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

You know, I'll I'll do it, you know, if you're not going to be able to die on the hill, I think about the middle.

Rayette

Like if you're arguing with somebody and that's their final say and you're like, Yeah, or they say something.

Jeffy McJefferson

I told Jason that one time, man. I was like, he was saying something about things, something he wanted to do. I go, dude, you're really gonna die on that hill? Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Doesn't suck.

Jeffy McJefferson

Doesn't suck. Whatever. Yeah. Yeah. He's notorious for that.

Mike

But when I see die on the hill, I just think of like that statue of Iwo Jima when the military's got the flag and plug. That's uh if you're gonna say you're gonna die on the hill, then by God be committed to it. That's where it come from. It's just you can't use that lightly.

Jeffy McJefferson

No, but they do. Oh, and there you I'll tell you one that pisses Rick off. Mo Ricker, the Ricker hates this more than anything, is that people who have never been in the service saying they have PTSD.

Rayette

Oh, yeah, that ticks him off.

Jeffy McJefferson

That means they've been married. I wish he was here right now.

Rayette

That means they've been married.

Jeffy McJefferson

Dude, he he would go on for the rest of the show about that. It freaking drives him nuts. I mean, but they're but there's people that do that all the time. Well, there's a lot of yeah.

Mike

Think of the guys came back to Vietnam. I mean, you went over there, the shit they saw was uh unbelievable. And they came back here and then you got people protesting, calling baby killers. I mean, they they didn't go over there because they wanted to.

Jeffy McJefferson

I mean, they should have like they're in the service. Yeah, yeah, you know.

Mike

But that was a that was kind of a that was a strange time. But to come back and not be celebrated for hey, thank you for your service.

Jeffy McJefferson

Because there's a girl that used to come to cart rides that we all know, and don't come there anymore, that always said that she had PTSD, and it drove Rick or fucking bonkers. Like, you don't fucking have PTSD.

Krista

Yeah.

Mike

Some people's tolerance, some people's tolerance to stress.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah.

Fake Service Dogs In Public Spaces

Jeffy McJefferson

And this is not related to that or anything, or even to the show, but or the topic, but that's weird. Fake service dogs.

Mike

How about service parrots or service this? I mean, we're at the top of the fucking food chain. If you need a parrot to get through your day, you got some issues.

Jeffy McJefferson

I'm talking about the fake service dogs. I mean, yeah, the fake fucking service dog to bring their shit in a restaurant or a or a grocery store. Well, I see people bringing fucking dogs, and even if they don't even have service dog shit on them, and they bring them to the growler bar. Mm-hmm. Just brought a dog into the grocery store. It drives me fucking bats, dude.

Mike

You know? It's like, dude, come find a friend, rent a friend. I don't care. But can't you bring a dog into a here?

Jeffy McJefferson

You're you're not okay. Number one, if you're not drinking at the d at the growler bar at the grow we clarify this, we our grail bar is at a grocery store. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

Mike

We used to hang out bars when you're young. Now we hang out at a grocery store.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. Now we could it's cool though. Now when we close the bar down, it's at eight o'clock at night. So we close it down, obviously. Yeah, we close the bar down, it's eight o'clock. But you know But in December that seems late. It's dark. It does.

Mike

Yeah. Not so much in July.

Jeffy McJefferson

I know. True. So light outside. But yeah, and then they'll come and and they're shopping and they have a fucking dog. Okay. Your dog can stay at home while you shop.

unknown

Yeah.

Mike

Pretty sure. Those are people you don't go up and ask to out.

Jeffy McJefferson

But these numb nuts, and that's an old saying, but I I wanted to use an old saying. These numbnuts. Num nuts.

Rayette

Numb nuts.

Mike

And where's the meaning of that? Are your nuts numb and does that cause this feeling you have? If my nuts are numb, I probably do stupid things too.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, well.

Mike

Maybe that's where it came from.

Jeffy McJefferson

My nuts aren't numb because if they even get brushed up on, man, I'm on the floor crying. Need more lubricant. I need more lubricant. Yeah, don't get me started on that. But not lubricant, but but the nuts. No, but I mean, seriously though, these these dumb asses that do that, this just irritate the fan.

Mike

Faking it is to it. Now I get it.

Jeffy McJefferson

And now I think I think Raya was like looking and and at signs now in stores and shit like that, especially around here. And I think people are like, or store owners, you know, stores are going like Game Axe.

Rayette

Trader Joe's has a big sign out front now that says service dogs only. Like no emotional support or something like that. It says, because technically you don't have to allow an emotional support. It is service dogs only. An emotional support dog or animal doesn't qualify as a service animal. And you know it's actually two separate things.

Jeffy McJefferson

And you could tell them apart by if they're if they're fake service dogs or real service dogs. Because, you know, if you go, hey, I wish I could pet them. No, no, you know, and shit like that. You can't pet, you can't pet a real service dog. But they'll go, oh no, go ahead and pet the fucker.

Mike

Okay, well then that's not a real fucking real service dogs are amazing how they help people. I mean, something like that, that's outstanding. Don't get me wrong. They can sense when somebody needs their medications or if they sense in a seizure.

Rayette

Yeah.

Mike

But yeah, just if you say, Oh, I like my dog, I'm gonna take him with me, that's not okay.

Jeffy McJefferson

And then you get a fake service dog vest off Amazon or something.

Mike

But I don't see ever see a parrot or an iguana or a these things. They don't sense seizures. I when I I've had a one of my patients who's a stewardess, try to say somebody wanted to bring their parrot on the plane because it was a service animal. I'm like, really?

Jeffy McJefferson

Did they really? Yeah.

Mike

They tried to pull it off.

Jeffy McJefferson

I'm like, shit.

Mike

You would be fun to hang out with.

Jeffy McJefferson

Rock! She's having a seizure. Rock! Rock! I don't know. Is that how that goes? I don't know. Pelly have an epilepsy.

Rayette

Yeah, but if you if you had a business and you only wanted to allow service dogs or service animals, you could stop anybody that says emotional support at the door, and you do not have to let them in. I didn't know there's a distinction, but they're not they are not trained to be a service animal. They're not part of the ADA.

Mike

Well, the human was not trained to be a normal adult either. So there's sometimes that is true. The dog and the human both need some training. That's the way I look at it.

Rayette

But yeah, emotional support is not part of the ADA.

Krista

Okay. All right. I'm closing on that.

Mike

Fuck fake circus dog. I can say if you need an emotional support dog, you should have been at the back of the pack getting picked off. But you have now been moved to the front of the line.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. If you can't if you have to bring your dog to a fucking grocery store, I'm sure it'd be okay for a little bit at your house, by the way, dicks. Okay. You don't have to fucking bring him to a goddamn grocery store or restaurant. Well, okay. Restaurant that has outside seating, I can I can fine.

Rayette

Whatever. That's what it's for.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. As long as the dog's well behaved. The dog's gonna say bark, bark, bark, bark.

Rayette

I agree. Yeah, yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. But no fucking, you know, don't don't bring the sons of bitches around. And I love don't okay. I love dogs. Okay, don't get me wrong, man. I fucking love dogs.

unknown

You know.

Mike

I don't think it really qualifies a dog for it's over 50 pounds though. Those little bitty.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, a little terrier. He was a bad dog. This is just real dog food. And we only took him to like Petco and pet stores and places like Yeah, where he could shit all over the floor and we have to clean it up.

Rayette

And they have stations for that.

Jeffy McJefferson

And they do. And they do. Yes. He was a great dog. He was a damn good travel dog. He could he was traveled well.

SPEAKER_05

Yep.

Jeffy McJefferson

Anyway, now we gotta kill time.

College Football Tease And Goodbye

Mike

Well, we can talk about the ducks. They are ranked number two, you know.

Krista

Where's Oklahoma?

Mike

Where's Oklahoma ranked?

Jeffy McJefferson

Actually nine.

Mike

Really?

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay. Yeah. One slip up and we're over your asses.

Mike

So it's gonna be a good year. It's gonna be a good year. You guys, but you're in the Big 12, right? No, we're in the SEC. SEC. Oh, that's right. Okay. Used to be in the Big 12. Okay. Oh, sorry. You and Texas came over at the same time, didn't you? It's gonna be a good year. We are we are we're less than a little over three weeks away from college football.

Jeffy McJefferson

I know, and then we're gonna do a pre you know college football preview show. And we'll have Pete on.

Mike

I'm starting to get a Woody. Yeah.

Rayette

Just have him comment.

Mike

Is that a service woody? It hadn't been serviced in a while, no.

Krista

Is it an emotional support woody? Yeah.

Mike

So you can bring it.

Jeffy McJefferson

So you can bring it in the grocery store. Do you need a little vest?

Mike

This is my wife's story. It hadn't been serviced in a while.

Jeffy McJefferson

You can bring your service woody into the grocery store now.

Rayette

So we'll get you a vest.

Mike

Got a little surge caught in the back of the throat on that one. Yeah.

Rayette

You know, they have those little have you seen those little It needs more of a sling at this point, though. Those little koozies that look like little puffin vests and stuff. We can get one of those and and alter it to a little emotional support.

Jeffy McJefferson

Like a Chad vest?

Rayette

I know, yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh yeah. Yeah.

Rayette

Yeah. We'll just write emotional support on it.

Jeffy McJefferson

I would need to Google it and see if they have one that would fit like a little weeble. You remember those little weebles?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Weebles wobble so that they don't fall down.

Jeffy McJefferson

We can go on another tangent for another hour about my small dick, and we're not going to do that. So but anyway.

Rayette

You're welcome for the visual.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. Well, there's not much of a visual. It sounds louder than it is. Yeah, you can. Yeah.

Mike

You'll hear it before you see it coming.

Jeffy McJefferson

It's like it's like to describe it. It's like, you know, when you when you go go drive through a small town, you blink and you're done. That's the same thing with that. So it's gonna leave it at that. It's a one blink light. One blink. Yeah, there's no light. You gotta go.

Mike

Anyway. Well it's like a train wreck. You don't want to look, but you have to.

SPEAKER_05

Welcome everybody.

Jeffy McJefferson

If you can. Yeah. Make sure if you need readers, get them. So hey, Jeffy McJefferson at almost famous radiopodcast.com.

Mike

Jeff with a G.

Jeffy McJefferson

It's not a G off. Yeah, it's Jeff. It's not G off Reed Jefferson. I was just getting going. We're done. I know. That's yeah, that's perfect. Yeah, we kind of fucked this one up, didn't we?

Rayette

And on that note.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, on that note, we're out. You know. Go live your best life. Yeah, live your best life. YOLO.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. What else? Uh what else can we tell everybody real quick? Bless your heart. That's that one will never die. That will never die.

Mike

Fuck up, friends.
