Ricker And His Daughter Mariah: A Deep Dive into Growing Up, Driving, and Family Dynamics

On this episode of Almost Famous Radio Podcast, we have a special conversation featuring Ricker and his daughter, Mariah. This intimate chat, recorded from our Humble Backyard Studio, dives deep into the complexities of childhood, the nuances of growing up in the 1990s, and the lasting impact of parental relationships. Mariah, the youngest of Ricker's three daughters, shares her unique perspective on navigating custody battles and how decisions made early in life shape a child's world. She reflects on the 1990s cultural landscape, a time of shifting body image ideals and distinct family dynamics, and contrasts it with her father's role. Despite his best efforts, Mariah notes that even a "really good dad" can leave behind complicated memories and indelible quotes that resonate through the years.

The 1990s Vibe and Custody Battles

Mariah vividly recalls the atmosphere of the 1990s, mentioning trends like "Slimfast" and societal pressures around body image. She describes her father as a "really good fucking dad," yet the realities of the court system meant limited time with him, often restricting her to seeing him only a few days a month. This period also brought perplexing instructions, like the infamous "chase headlights" comment, which she later interpreted as a cryptic directive to go away or be quiet. As an adult, Mariah has come to understand how her father's past "immorality" in certain areas might have influenced his strictness with his children, establishing clear boundaries of right and wrong. Even with significant achievements, like a 4.0 GPA, excelling in track, and participating in ballet, her father's reactions were understated, simply offering a "very good" rather than the enthusiastic praise she might have hoped for. This dynamic highlights the complex emotional landscape of parental relationships and the enduring influence of early experiences.

Navigating the Road: Learning to Drive and Epic Traffic Stops

The conversation shifts to the universal experience of learning to drive, a chapter filled with memorable moments for Mariah and her sisters. While her older sister Sierra mastered stick shifts and tire changes, Mariah's father considered her "hopeless" at car maintenance, enlisting her aunt to teach her the ropes. This led to an unforgettable Fourth of July road trip on I-5, where Mariah and Sierra found themselves stranded with a flat tire. With most services closed, Ricker had to come to their rescue. Later, Mariah recounts a particularly amusing traffic stop where an officer, concerned by her erratic driving, suspected intoxication. Her explanation? She was attempting to retrieve a slice of pizza from a box in the backseat, a fact confirmed when the officer shone his flashlight into her lap, revealing the errant slice. This tale adds a humorous touch to the often stressful experience of traffic stops.

Highway 299: Speed, Danger, and Cop Code

Mariah shares her experiences on the notorious Highway 299 in Northern California, a winding and often dangerous road notorious for accidents. She admits to accumulating multiple speeding tickets on this stretch, where speed can easily creep up unnoticed on long downhills. The conversation delves into how familiarity with such a road can make its inherent dangers seem normal. Mariah also sheds light on the concept of "cop code," explaining how one officer, after pulling her over for speeding on Highway 299, subtly marked her ticket. This mark, she explains, indicated her true speed was much higher than the written limit, a sign of leniency and a "cop code of mercy" rather than a severe penalty.

Workplace Rage vs. Home Calm: The Dichotomy of Personality

The episode explores a common paradox: why can someone be a "rage machine" at work, yet remain calm and gentle in personal life? The discussion touches upon Ricker's own tendencies, contrasting his intense workplace demeanor with his composed nature on the golf course and as a father. Mariah describes a moment of intense anger from her father, attributing his outbursts to his Sicilian heritage and a family history of emotional intensity. Yet, she emphasizes that as a dad, Ricker was far from rageful, a quality she now deeply appreciates and finds challenging to emulate as a mother. This exploration also leads to a surprisingly helpful detour into practical calming techniques and skincare advice, including discussions on acne, charcoal and clay masks, and the actual benefits of placing cucumbers on one's eyes.

SPEAKER_06

I got a I I got a uh Old Forrester.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, you went Old Forester after we left?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, there's a little bit less. I would have I would have offered you, but uh there's only enough for me.

Jeffy McJefferson

So no no, I'm just saying, you know, because I was like, whoa, damn, we were drinking the Cossi there before.

SPEAKER_05

Real real quick plastic bottle dark liquor is down for that. He's like, is this on sale for $17?

SPEAKER_02

Blast.

SPEAKER_05

I glass.

SPEAKER_06

It's the only way to go.

Jeffy McJefferson

Glasshouse. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Glass house, glass bottle.

Jeffy McJefferson

But a little bit of backstory real quick is like Mike, Rayette, and I came over there. Oh, with with Mike's lovely bride. And we had a couple of Ninkasis, and so that's that's what surprised me about he went old Forester.

SPEAKER_06

So well, yeah, I thought I would do one because I need to drink.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, sure.

SPEAKER_06

But yeah, it's all it's all good. Are you are you guys taking off? No. Sorry. No, we're good. Keep going, Jeffy. I just uh it's all good.

Jeffy McJefferson

So Mariah Mariah is gone.

SPEAKER_02

Oh I thought you were gone.

Jeffy McJefferson

Is she gone?

SPEAKER_02

No, she's here.

SPEAKER_06

Nope, she's here.

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay.

Mariah On Growing Up After Court

Jeffy McJefferson

Let's let's backstory about you.

SPEAKER_03

Oh god.

Jeffy McJefferson

You're Ricker's daughter.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, I am.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, and you live in Delaware, right?

SPEAKER_05

I do. It's a complex story.

Jeffy McJefferson

Let's let's hear it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, we should definitely go back to October 3rd, 1990s.

Jeffy McJefferson

Let's go back. Let's go back anywhere anywhere you want to go. Let's go back.

SPEAKER_06

See, now you're just asking for her to, you know.

SPEAKER_05

Trauma dumped.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. We gotta go back.

Jeffy McJefferson

We gotta hear it. We gotta hear it. Okay. Well, go ahead. You're on.

SPEAKER_05

Honestly, it was the 90s when like Slimfast is all the rage. Like moms like hate their bodies. Like it's a whole thing. Like the 90s were a whole vibe. And my dad was like that random dad that was just a really good fucking dad. And then the court system was like, no, but like you have to be with your mom all the time. And you can see your dad like four days a month. So like that that's just what happened. But after a while, no, like you were such a good dad. You he was such a good dad. He wanted me to be a boy so bad in like and like I turned out to be the girliest girl ever. No, it is like he's like, oh Sierra, like she's the firstborn, but she's the daughter. And so they like doted on her, but then he would kind of try and get her to like play catch and stuff. And then I came along and he's like, oh my fucking god. I would like walk out there with like a dress on and sneakers and a baseball cap backwards, and I'm like, okay, I'm ready to play. He's like, no, you have to hold the glove up, Mariah.

Jeffy McJefferson

That's awesome.

SPEAKER_05

And then I'd just be like out there in the lawn, just playing with my dress, and Sierra and him are like really trying to like, you know, have a like a mean pitching like fit. And he's like, Mariah, just go chase headlights. Do you know how long? Do you know how long in my life it took me to realize he was telling me to chase cars that were coming towards me? Chase headlights.

SPEAKER_03

He didn't say chase taillights. He said chase headlights. So fucked up.

Jeffy McJefferson

Freaking awesome.

SPEAKER_06

Well, it was a saying, you know. That's the thing. It's a saying. It's not, you know, don't don't actually go chase headlights. It just means go out in the street and play.

SPEAKER_03

But it also means like stop talking. Yeah, pretty much. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Shut up and go away is another way of looking at it. Yeah, it's all good.

Jeffy McJefferson

So Mariah, okay, we we all know Ricker here. Kind of a lot, you know, and stuff like that. You have way, you have way more backstories. No, no, I I shouldn't say backstories, but you have way more information on it that we need to hear.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah. Yeah, but why do I need to be involved in any of this? You want a bad guy?

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, because you're right here. Yeah. So don't interrupt her, man. Don't interrupt her. So like scratch not nothing yet there, Ricker. So we got to go. Okay. All right. Okay, go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

What do we where do we want to go from here?

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, hell, you got you tell me. I mean, this guy, you know, he's a great guy and stuff like that. Was he not always a great guy?

SPEAKER_02

No, I wasn't.

SPEAKER_05

I would say No, I don't, I don't want to get too Yeah, we're not gonna get too much. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I feel like as an adult, his like immorality in other places, which I don't know the details of, made him way more strict on us morally. Like this is like the right thing to do. This is the wrong thing to do. I remember, I swear to God. So this is like after my dad won custody of us from our mom, and it was a whole thing, whole traumatic thing. And a lot of it has to do with Teresa.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, I'm not gonna go into that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Okay. So we are living with my dad, and I go to him and I have a 4.0, and I'm like running track doing ballet, and I'm like, Dad, I got a 4.0. And he looks at it and he goes, very good. And I hung that bitch on the fridge myself, and I was like, You're gonna look at this every day. Okay, you look at this every fucking day. But then like other things where it's like, my dad has made me coffee and eggs every single morning that I've ever stayed with him, like up until this trip, which I have a lot of comments about.

Jeffy McJefferson

Which we need to hear.

SPEAKER_05

Like, why is it not being served to me in bed like normal?

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_05

I'm like, Dad, what are you going through? What do we like? What do you mean? What do you need to talk about?

SPEAKER_06

I don't need to talk about anything. Seems like you guys have it all covered.

Jeffy McJefferson

No, we don't have it covered, man. She's she's she's got a little bit covered. You know, what do you think, Ricker?

SPEAKER_06

Uh, I think I need to drink more. Oh.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, I don't think I've drank enough. Well, you're out of old force.

SPEAKER_06

You know, I I I made plenty of mistakes. Many, many, many, many.

Jeffy McJefferson

Every dad and mom has done that. That's okay. But, you know, she she freaking flew from Delaware to come and see you.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, I love my dad, and you will never hear me talk. Like, I'll talk shit to his face, but I will never talk shit behind his back. Like, I love my dad so much. I'm so grateful for him. I'm so grateful for him.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, because you know, we were actually we were at the at the at the I mean we were in the backyard, you know, and stuff like that. You guys help us put up the stuff. Had a little hot dog feed, you know, and stuff like that. Yeah. It's always fun to listen to you bullshit and stuff like that and then hang shit on your dad. A lot of people out here would love to hear that.

SPEAKER_06

Well, I don't know what to tell you. It's you know, you're only getting one person on this, you know, she she likes to hang shit on you. Well, I know, but I mean it'd be better if you had both of them because Sierra's probably got more stories. I don't know. Although you always both have fairly similar.

Jeffy McJefferson

Mariah had plenty.

SPEAKER_06

Time frames. Yeah, oh, she does. She does. She's being good though. She's, you know, not divulging everything. I'm sure I don't know what to say.

SPEAKER_05

I need more guidance. Like, I'm that type of energy where I like need to be like told like more in the lane of like where I'm supposed to be.

SPEAKER_06

Well, what do what stories do you want to, you know? I I don't care what stories you tell. I mean, what stories do you want to tell about your childhood that I was involved with?

SPEAKER_05

That's what we you know, kind of this this one comes really full.

Jeffy McJefferson

Good, bad, or ugly.

SPEAKER_05

I love this one.

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay.

Mechanic Dad And Learning To Drive

SPEAKER_05

So obviously, my dad has been a mechanic forever. And he's like grow growing up with three daughters, like honestly, I just can't even imagine. I can't even imagine what that was like with one daughter like me. Okay. So honestly, whatever.

Jeffy McJefferson

And it's kind of like it's kind of like uh uh what's at the show Last Man Standing. That that you know, Mike Baxter, stuff like that, you know, with uh Tim Allen. Yeah, Tim Allen, you know, he has three daughters, yeah. So okay, go ahead. Sorry, Bert.

SPEAKER_05

Like dad just has to learn to like love getting beat up on all the time. Like that's kind of our love language, and we've we've fully leaned into that by this point. But when I was a kid, I was like the youngest, right? Like I'm the youngest of three girls. And so then, like with my sister with Sierra, he's like, we have to teach you how to like drive a stick and change your oil and change a tire. Somehow, by the time it got to me, it was like, oh, Mariah is fucking hopeless. Like, there is no way. They they signed me off to my aunt to teach me how to drive. What? They were like, she can't, she cannot, I cannot handle this. I cannot handle Mariah. And at this point, I'm in full rebellion mode, which is kind of, yeah, that is kind of my like, that is kind of my MO is when I'm like building boundaries, I just turn against everything, right? And so I am like, like, you guys are controlling me. I'm in high school, I've been a 4.0 student forever. I'm already into college, like early, early admission, like whatever. And so my sister gets this is the first. My sister gets a flat tire, and I'm with her, and it's Sierra, the oldest, and I'm like 14, and we're on the side of the road. And I'm like, dude, you just keep driving until it like stops. Until it like. And she's like, really? And I'm like, yeah, we're on the freeway. What do you expect to do? It's ripping off in shreds. And I'm like, dude, we'll just like call big O. And we call dad and we're on the phone with him.

Jeffy McJefferson

You call dad, you called your dad big O.

SPEAKER_05

No, big O tires.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

We called the phone tires and we're like, oh, they're closed. So we call dad and we're like, dad, like, we're on the side of I5, like it's not great. It's like right by the hilltop exit. Like, there's a lot going on. And he's like, You guys, it's 4th of July. You think anyone is changing tires right now but me?

SPEAKER_03

Well, Pira, I can't believe you drove on that tire for so long. Like, dude, dad's gonna be so pissy.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my gosh. Oh man. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So then we go into my slew of tickets.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, there's a slew of tickets?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. So one time I mean you said slew.

Jeffy McJefferson

I mean, there's yeah, there's a whole slew. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

Pulled Over For Phone And Pizza

SPEAKER_05

So this is when they're first enacting, not driving on your cell phone. And I get pulled over for driving on my cell phone. And he looks at my ID. This is pretty privileged to the max. I'm not even kidding. He looks at my ID and he's like, Cavallero, are you Italian? And I'm like, I'm actually Sicilian. And he's like, oh my God, me too. And I was like, no way. And he's like, and he's like, can I see your driver's license, registration, and insurance? And I'm like, sure. And I hand him my driver's license, my insurance, and my medical card. Like my health insurance.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, your medical card too, uh.

SPEAKER_05

My health insurance.

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

And I'm like, here you go. And he's like, no, I meant your car insurance. And I was like, oh, I don't know where that is. I have no idea. And he's like, you know what? What? We're just gonna call it a day. Like, you're probably good. Don't be on your phone again. I was like, okay.

SPEAKER_06

Was this in Eureka?

SPEAKER_05

Yes. And I was like 17. 17. The next time I get pulled over, I'm 18 years old.

Jeffy McJefferson

She's only 17. Yeah, that kind of thing. Yeah. Okay. So that's what that's what the cop probably thought thought.

SPEAKER_05

Oh it was midday, broad daylight, and I'm just on my phone in an intersection, turning left, and I'm like, oh my god, I'm getting pulled over. This is crazy. Okay. Then we moved to my 18th.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

I get pulled over. I get pulled over. And he's like, hey, are you okay? And I'm like, yeah. And he's like, have you been drinking tonight? And I was like, no. And he's like, so you're a shitty driver. All the time. What? And I was like, I guess. What are you talking about? And he's like, you're swerving through lanes. And I was like, I'm sorry, sir. I just got a pizza from Bains Pizza and it's in the backseat. And I'm trying to get a piece out of the box. And then he shines the flashlight in my lap, and there's just a piece of pizza in my shit.

SPEAKER_03

And then he's like working. And I was like, Babes, it's really good. It's like ricotta and like the cheese. I was like, do you want a piece?

SPEAKER_05

And he's like, have a good night. I absolutely cannot handle this right now.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my gosh, man. You tortured these Eureka cops like crazy, didn't you?

SPEAKER_05

Dude, the next two are on 299.

SPEAKER_03

Going from Redding.

Jeffy McJefferson

We got another one.

SPEAKER_05

These are the last two, though.

Jeffy McJefferson

I asked. I asked, so so I I you know, I deserve this. So go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

That's that.

Highway 299 Speeding Lessons

SPEAKER_05

So I'm driving back from Reading to Humboldt on 299, crazy road. I'm going 80 miles per hour.

Jeffy McJefferson

And by the way, this is in California for everybody in the world that didn't know this, okay? So go ahead.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. And it's and it's for everyone who doesn't know, it's like the craziest, windiest road that a lot of people complain about getting like sick on. There's a lot of accidents that are like really tragic. People die a lot on that road. And I had I had driven that road since I was like five years old. And so I'm like You drove at five? Not okay.

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay, I got you. I had to clarify that. I had to clarify that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Since I was born, I've been a passenger. I had driven that road though since I was 15. Like since I got my my permit.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And so I'm driving that road and I drove it all the time. All the time. I went to Trinity Lake. I went to Shasta Lake. I went back home to see my parents. I mean, every weekend. And I'm driving back and I'm going 80, but it's the downhill, the big dad. You know what I'm talking about? Where it's like the 80s downhill.

SPEAKER_06

You're going to be united. On a windy road, you're going 80? No, it's it, well, it's kind of windy.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's pretty straight there. It comes down to the city. There's a straight and it goes down and it's going out of Weaverville.

SPEAKER_06

Right. It's gosh dang it. What is the name of that? It's not, it's Oregon Mountain. Oregon Mountain.

SPEAKER_05

And it's a big downhill.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's a big long downhill.

SPEAKER_05

Then you're gonna gain space.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Like you're just gonna get it.

SPEAKER_06

There's like there's like three sharp corners in it, and it's probably a 1200-foot, maybe 1,500 foot drop. And there's probably there's three corners, and then there's a bunch of small corners at the bottom, but most of them are at the top, and there's a lot of straight sections that go to sharp turns, and then straight sections that go to sharp turns, and you gain a lot of speed because the top side is probably 8%.

SPEAKER_05

It's kind of like tabletop, like a tabletop term, and then straight down.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you go straight down.

SPEAKER_05

And so if you're trying to save your brakes, and by the way, my dad, the only time he ever took me driving for my lessons, like when I was practicing driving, the whole time he was like, Are we coasting or are we gassing? Are we coasting? We should be coasting now. It's a yellow, we should be coasting. And I'm like, oh my god. So I'm coasting down this hill and I'm going 82 in a 55. And he pulls me over and he's like, dude, I like you could kill someone though. And I'm like, my stomach hurts really bad. I was like, I have to go to I have to go to the nearest rest stop. I like actually have to poop so bad. And they're like, dude, no, you don't. He's like looking at my passenger seat and it's full of fucking Gardettos and Pringles. And I'm like, no, I'm really sick. I am really sick. And he's like, okay, I'm gonna follow you there. He follows me there, and then he writes me a ticket for 65, but he puts like a little thing by the 65 where it's like other cops can tell that he underwrote me, that I was going like 80 something, and he wrote me for 65 because he didn't want to like fuck my life over.

Jeffy McJefferson

Did he like give Did he like put a like poop emoji on there or something like that?

SPEAKER_05

Dude, it was literally a dot because I asked the next cop then because I didn't know how the next cop did.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, the next cop. I'm sorry. Yeah. Yeah. Why why did I think that was, yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_01

That would be the end of the selection.

SPEAKER_05

No, yeah. We're on the we're on the end though. We're on the we're on the downhill side. Yeah, we're on the line.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

So then I'm going back from Reading again a month later, not even a month later, and I get pulled over again. Going 82. I swear to God, going 82 again.

Jeffy McJefferson

And I was like, what's the what's with the okay, okay. What's with the 82 thing? Okay, I gotta, I gotta kind of figure out what's with the 82 thing.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, I feel like my dad could tell you if you've driven that road a lot.

Jeffy McJefferson

You're the one that was driving 82.

SPEAKER_05

82 is not crazy. Well.

Jeffy McJefferson

These stories are like 82, so go ahead. Oh, okay, Ricker. You're the 82. You're the 82 guy. And you taught your daughters how to drive 82. Are you fucking kidding me?

SPEAKER_05

It is kind of like golf where you can read a course. When you drive that road enough, you can read the road. Like you read the heads and flows, and you're like, okay, if I just like don't, if I coast here, then I can get up the next hill. Like it's a whole thing.

SPEAKER_06

It is. If you're just driving the drive.

SPEAKER_05

You can fight your engine.

SPEAKER_06

Like you can fight it, but I it's easier to just go and you know, again, you coast where you coast and you freaking hammer it where you hammer it. And, you know, you kind of just go the speed that the road dictates. I mean, there's places where you're doing 25.

Jeffy McJefferson

So you taught her you taught her how to go 82 when you need to go 82. Right?

SPEAKER_03

Probably. Yeah, probably. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

That was probably your uncle, but I'm gonna I'm I'll take it. No, it wasn't the uncle.

SPEAKER_03

I mean that.

Jeffy McJefferson

Couldn't have been the uncle. What's that now? Couldn't have been the uncle. It had to be the dead. You taught her about the 82. I don't think.

SPEAKER_05

I drove with you way more than I drove with Uncle Terry. Way, way more.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, he still know what to tell you. Sorry, dude. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

Jeffy McJefferson

You can blame you can blame it on the Uncle Ricker. I'll tell him, but she actually showed you that you are the one that taught her how to drive 82.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Well it was only 55.

SPEAKER_05

Like it was fine.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_05

We were fine. And so then I get pulled over for the final time. And I open my glove box and the other ticket falls out.

SPEAKER_06

The other 825.

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

And it that's how I knew it was pop code. That is how I knew it was cop code because he picks it up. He's like, wait, did you get another ticket? And I'm like, I really can't afford this. I'm just a college student. Like, I don't know what to do. And he like picks it up and he looks and he goes, See, we're going more than 65. I see her. And I'm like, how do you see that? And he's like, oh, there's signs. I looked at it. It was literally a dot in the upper right corner. And I was like, oh my God. And he's like, you have enough to deal with. You're fine. Just don't do it again. You're gonna kill someone. And I was like, okay. Never did it again. 72 was top speed after that.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, you you you you ratcheted down 10 miles an hour, so you were good there, right?

SPEAKER_05

Well, yeah, I never got pulled over at that.

SPEAKER_06

Well, you know, it honestly, it probably started with me going to the coast because I had the two.

Jeffy McJefferson

That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_06

I had the two of them on the same road, and this is back when I remember this, by the way. See it remembered we had they had five-liter Mustangs. Okay. And I was going, I think I was in between Del Loma and Willow Creek somewhere on 299. And I'm hammering it, but I'm not going that fast. I'm doing 65, but not there isn't. Yeah, I I was I was actually doing 65, and uh that's what he says.

SPEAKER_05

Allegedly.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, allegedly. There we go. Allegedly.

SPEAKER_05

Allegedly.

SPEAKER_06

So my favorite word is allegedly. Allegedly.

SPEAKER_03

Everything's alleged.

SPEAKER_06

So I'm doing over the posted speed limit. Let's go there.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's good.

SPEAKER_06

And I come around to court, and there's so many blind corners on that road, it's not funny.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, you basically this is back in like '98 when it's a really bad road. Like they haven't fixed they haven't fixed half of it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Like they haven't fixed half of it. It's a horrible road. Dad drove it by truck and could point out like the cars that were embedded in the in the river. Yeah. In the river.

SPEAKER_06

You could see freaking cars on that went over the sides.

SPEAKER_05

He had driven it so many times, he would be like, Oh, look over right now. There's a blue car. And we would see it like 50 feet down in the riverbed that had like crashed in there, and he is the one who like knew where it was.

SPEAKER_06

But I get I as soon as I see I come around the corner, I'm I'm hauling ass. I'm doing 65. And this is in the twisties. So I was going way over. And a CHP in a five-liter Mustang, which was what I had at the time, he lights me as soon as he sees me. It's like, okay, well, I'm done. And the kids are in the car with me because I'm going to see their grandparents. And he pulls me over, and the guy was laughing basically. And he comes up to me and says, You know you're not supposed to be going that fast. I said, Yeah, I get it. I, you know, no problem. I'll, you know. Well, I'm not gonna write you, but I'm going to write a fix-it ticket because your tires are so fucking bald, you're gonna kill somebody. Again. Yeah, exactly. So obviously, this is yeah, yeah, yeah. So yeah, he came up to the he came up to the car. He was really nice.

SPEAKER_05

He walked away, he walked away to write this fix-it ticket. And I distinctly remember in my memory, my dad takes his sunglasses off and throws them against the dashboard. He's like, fuck.

Jeffy McJefferson

I remember you talking about this just the other day.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, it is actually a crazy memory because I feel like my dad's anger, like this definitely comes from his Sicilian side of his family. But there's a lot of like history of anger. That is one of the moments of absolute rage.

Jeffy McJefferson

Where it was he's an angry guy.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, rage took over his body and he just like took those sunglasses off. He did not care if they shattered. He fucking threw those things against the windshield. He was like, fuck this guy, blah, blah, blah. I was like, oh my god.

Jeffy McJefferson

Do you think that surprise me? Do you think do you really, really, really think that surprises me? It does not. I work with the guy.

SPEAKER_05

No, yeah, and I feel like at work it comes out more than ever.

Rage At Work Calm As Dad

SPEAKER_05

No, it does.

SPEAKER_06

It kind of does. It doesn't come out when we golf. Doesn't come out when I didn't, you know.

Jeffy McJefferson

He he's he's a rage a holic at work. And it come it does not come. I just don't understand why it doesn't come out on on golf. Have you ever golfed with him for real?

SPEAKER_05

He's he what'd you say?

Jeffy McJefferson

Have you golfed have you golfed with him?

SPEAKER_05

No, I don't think so. I'm pretty good though. Like I would beat his ass. Like cut.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, uh other than that, yeah, I just wondered, yeah. Cause that's what really shocked me, you know, working with him when I first got my job. First got my job there at Kelly's.

SPEAKER_05

As a dad, he is not rage a holic at all. As a dad, he is not. There's like certain things that you were like scared about, but mostly he was not rageful as a dad at all. And that takes so much patience that now me as a mom, I'm like, how?

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, that's what I was saying. You know, that's kind of what that's kind of what I was getting at with the with the work thing and the golf thing. And and I can understand what you're saying right there. Because when I first, you know, when I first started working over there at Kelly's, you know, and and they were like, Oh, uh I did I I was like, okay, I I kind of golf and stuff like that. So they they invited me to golf with him, him and Brad. And I was like, I told I told my wife, I was like, I don't know if I want to golf with these guys.

SPEAKER_01

You know, no, yeah, I don't blame you.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, stuff like that. And she's like, go, go. Just go and see what see what it's like. So I was like, Yeah, but this guy is like a rage a holic at work. And I could you know, I could not believe how he was like level level at golf and not at you know, you know, at work.

SPEAKER_05

He was like pay close attention to him though, when you feel like he's level, he's actually just internalizing it.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, it's kind of weird, man, because I mean golf, man, that's where that's where you get pissed off. You know, and and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, people that golf, you know, which which are out is golf and then they go day job and then they're chill. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. He turns it off right there. I kinda kinda believe what you're saying right there, because that's that's what I'm saying, man, with with it when it comes from work and and golf. I was like, well shit. It's kind of weird. And I and I tell everybody this all the time.

SPEAKER_05

I was like, man, Ricker is like a negative Nelly and shit like that at work, and he he's no, but he is he'll let a thing ruin his whole day. And I'm like, how?

Jeffy McJefferson

But once he gets out of the once he gets out of the shop, it's a totally different thing. I I think we both do that, kinda, because I I kind of do that too. But man, it was it was kind of crazy, man, when he you know, when I when I first met him and stuff like that, and then went out to the golf course. I I thought that you know if you know he he made a bad shot. It would be so he would like snap clubs and shit like that over his knee and shit like that. He didn't do it.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, he would be so calm with Tierra and I, where he would like brush our hair. He would comb our hair after our showers for years. He would like have us both come out there and he would like comb our hair so gently. Like he he's just I know. Anyway, it's really uncomfortable.

Jeffy McJefferson

Anyway, you know what? You know what, Mariah? I'm gonna have bring a comb to work on Monday.

SPEAKER_06

And I'm not combing your freaking hair every day.

Jeffy McJefferson

He's gonna comb my hair.

SPEAKER_04

Dude, it felt so good. It felt so good. I love it.

Jeffy McJefferson

I don't have I don't have the long hair like you guys do, but I it wouldn't take him long to do it. So okay Okay, Rickard, I can't wait to have you comb my hair.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's not gonna happen, Jeffy. You know, bring that comb anyways. It'll be where it works. Well, snap the fucking comb. I'm gonna get one.

Jeffy McJefferson

I'm gonna get one tomorrow. I'm gonna get a comb. Well snap it for you. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But guaranteed he's gonna brush Aspen and Jameson's hair.

SPEAKER_06

See?

SPEAKER_05

Probably for a long time.

SPEAKER_06

And and they'll love it. Core, and I did the same with Janessa. Or I tried.

Jeffy McJefferson

I can't wait to have my hair combed on Monday. Well, I don't know. Thank you, Mariah. Thank you for doing this. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not even kidding. And it's really good for like stimulating like thickness, you know.

Jeffy McJefferson

I'm gonna get stimulated. I'm gonna get I'm gonna get stimulated on Monday, fellas, and and ladies and gentlemen. Ricca's gonna stimulate my hair with a comb on Monday at work.

SPEAKER_05

So good at wow.

The Office Hair-Comb Challenge

Jeffy McJefferson

Wow.

SPEAKER_06

I'm so glad we did this. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not. That's one of you. That's a freaking audience of one. Jeffy. Yeah, happiness. I can't wait for that.

Jeffy McJefferson

Am I right? I'll let you know how it works out.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you. I honestly love a follow up. Right. You know that about me.

SPEAKER_06

So a follow-up of nothing, Jeffy. It's not gonna happen. I'll do the follow-up.

SPEAKER_05

And like I want to know like how it holds up. You know, if I'm overselling him or underselling him, like these are things that I need to know when I'm going out in the public and just like saying things.

Jeffy McJefferson

When you get back, when you get back to Delaware, you're gonna like, hey, you know what? My dad combed his co-worker's hair. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It was uncomfortable for everyone. It was uncomfortable for everyone.

Jeffy McJefferson

It was uncomfortable for everyone, it was uncomfortable for everyone except for me.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my gosh. Oh, this is this is a case of crackhead versus crackhead. Because you two are freaking living in some alternative universe.

Jeffy McJefferson

Can't wait for that.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. I'm getting it. You're gonna be waiting long damn time.

Jeffy McJefferson

Actually, I'll I'll I'll bring it a cart ride tomorrow.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, just get it, just get a wide tooth one. Because like he, you know, his anger issues.

SPEAKER_06

You still got a bag on me after that. You still got a bag on me.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, I get where his fear comes from.

SPEAKER_03

Protect me. He has any tingles. The wide tooth. Oh, you want to protect Jeffy. Yeah, Jeff, obviously.

SPEAKER_06

Obviously. My bad. I'm sorry, Jeffy. I thought for a second she cared, but that's No, I do care.

SPEAKER_03

Just listen back to the whole podcast and it'll cure a few moments of care.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, she's uh she's kind of protecting me on that one then. I need, you know, because I have to buy a comb and she's actually going, like, hey, get a wide-tooth one. Okay, okay, good deal. Thank you, Mara.

SPEAKER_05

Giving good advice, first of all. And second of all, yeah, like four minutes of love and praise is more than most people hope for.

SPEAKER_06

That's true. Yeah. Out of you and your sister, yeah. Four minutes is really dead. That's probably all I'm gonna get.

SPEAKER_01

So you know, so that psychologically at some point.

Jeffy McJefferson

So when he well, so when he combs my hair, it's only gonna be for four minutes, or can I stretch it to five?

SPEAKER_05

Dude, I think that it might be like two minutes because you're not busy. I need I know, but still two minutes. If you spread it out like throughout the week, you could get it like probably ten minutes a week.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, that's a good idea. I'll just go ahead and do that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Let's go two a day, Rick, next week.

SPEAKER_03

Like don't work himself.

SPEAKER_06

That's you you want to do two a day. Yeah, we'll do two a day. So you know, kind of like kind of like football and shit like that. Yeah, we'll go two a day. Yeah. We'll go two a day.

SPEAKER_05

But he does love like a spray-in, like a spray-in conditioner, if you can also I could probably find that.

SPEAKER_06

When you've got daughters with super fine hair that play outside like animals, and it's 105 degrees, you need a little spray-in. Spray-in's a good idea. Yeah. Not being a hair professional, but well, that's where it is.

Jeffy McJefferson

She probably has some of that stuff out there.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, you missed out on the sale today.

Jeffy McJefferson

So uh I'm pretty sure that I can get some spray and conditioner to even do that. So hey, thanks for that. Well, thanks for that, Mariah, too. Awesome.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you're gonna bring spray and conditioner and wide tooth comb, and you're gonna do it yourself. No, you're gonna do it. No, I am not.

Jeffy McJefferson

No, you're gonna do it.

SPEAKER_03

You just haven't sit on his little booty.

Jeffy McJefferson

I'm actually gonna schedule everybody for nine o'clock because we open at eight. So we open we open at eight o'clock. So I'll schedule everybody at nine o'clock so I can have my hair treatment, you know, from eight to nine. You know. This is what happens on a podcast. That's that's what I'm gonna do. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, I already said that I shouldn't be doing this.

SPEAKER_06

No, this is what happens with all of them. They all go sideways. They never end up on the topic that you were talking about in the first. What the hell were we talking about to begin with? You you were talking about you. Oh, no, we were talking about Mira's tickets. No, that was bad.

Jeffy McJefferson

That was that was a long time ago.

SPEAKER_06

I I know, but now it comes down to you. We were talking about getting your hair comb by me. Because we have how this happened. Well, you know what? It's perfect. I I think that the hair combing I can't wait. You will be able to be able to wave, but you're gonna have to wait.

Jeffy McJefferson

I will I will shower, I will wash my hair and stuff like that. So it you know, it won't it won't stink and stuff like that. So yeah. I'll get I'll get all that stuff.

SPEAKER_06

You know, I'll get I'll I'll provide, I'll provide the you girls don't need to write out.

Jeffy McJefferson

I'll provide the comb. I'll pr provide the uh you know everything that you need. So all you have to do is just do it.

SPEAKER_06

I think I'd rather comb my daughter's hair, but thanks. That's I I'll still do that.

SPEAKER_05

No, he will. He'll still hold my hand in the parking lot to go to the grocery store. I'm not even getting it's so cute. It's the cutest thing ever.

Jeffy McJefferson

You're st you're still gonna be here on Monday, aren't you, Mariah?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay, you can watch him comb my hair.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, can I film it?

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, you can watch him you can watch him do that.

SPEAKER_06

Are you gonna are you gonna pipe it directly over to to uh Kelly so Brad can laugh at me?

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, dude, you know, once it's done, it's done.

SPEAKER_06

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_05

We're scaring him now.

SPEAKER_06

No, can't can't do that unless you're gonna freaking, you know, unless you're gonna make it full humiliation.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, dude, I'll I'll I'll go ahead and I'll go ahead and for both of us. Yeah, we could we could probably go ahead and and and video that on the phone.

SPEAKER_05

Can't no, yeah, I'm going to. Don't worry about it.

Jeffy McJefferson

Right, right, Moray? We can do that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I'm going to do that. It's not have that happening. Yeah.

Jeffy McJefferson

I I'm going to need you to do that because I can't do that myself while I'm getting the comb out.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, don't worry, y'all.

Jeffy McJefferson

So you can just like go all all around the all around the head and stuff like that when he does that and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_03

We're gonna do a full basic.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah. Yeah, yeah. And then and then you could just sit, you can just send it to me and and I'll I'll I'll send it to Brad.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, perfect.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they'll do it.

SPEAKER_06

It'll really work out well for you, Jessica.

Jeffy McJefferson

I'll send it to everybody at Cartwrights too, so it's all good.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, good. Send it to all your contacts. Oh, what?

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, fuck yeah. I'm gonna send it to everybody, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Like that's way easier. Just like do a select all and just see what comes back.

Jeffy McJefferson

Fucking exactly. That's what's what's gonna happen. You know what? Can't wait. I don't know if I like anybody anymore. You know what? You know, I I I I hate Mondays, but I'm gonna love this Monday.

SPEAKER_04

Dude, I'm kind of like poor.

SPEAKER_06

You're you're gonna love Mondays as much as you always love Mondays. Well, I'm gonna love this Monday because I can't wait. It's not gonna be different from any other Monday because it's a good one.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, it's gonna be different, man, because I'm gonna get a coma.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, and the comments.

SPEAKER_06

You're lucky you got a damn podcast today. No less a comb out. I got I got both. You're getting one. I got both. That's all you're getting. And the one you're getting is not a freaking coma.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, it's very calming. I'm gonna do this to my dad. Hang on. This is a very calming thing. He's not gonna believe my hippie energy. But just wait. You have to just relax, dad. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Oh me.

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Can't wait.

SPEAKER_05

If you just tap if you just tap the inside of someone's wrist, it feels so calming. Like slowly tap the inside of someone's wrist. Tell me that doesn't feel so relaxing.

Jeffy McJefferson

It's pretty good. Can you do that while you comb me out?

SPEAKER_05

No, I would never do that.

Jeffy McJefferson

No, I'm talking about ricker. I mean, can why why you while you comb yeah while you combs me out.

SPEAKER_05

One hand combing, one hand me.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, one hand combing, one hand doing that uh little wrist hat thing. Yeah. Dude, I think hey, this is the best. I can't believe this is. You have to be extra talented, but yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I don't think he could do them both at the same time. It kind of takes a lot of like.

Jeffy McJefferson

I think he can.

SPEAKER_05

I have to like hold my dad's hand to like stop him from suffocating me at the same time. So it's like it's like kind of like calm fighting like a demon, you know?

SPEAKER_06

That's nice. I've been called everything tonight. But now I'm a demon.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, doesn't that feel good?

SPEAKER_06

It kind of does.

SPEAKER_05

Thanks.

SPEAKER_06

I have to admit it. It's kind of.

SPEAKER_05

I have some holistic medicine you guys can hear about next time.

Jeffy McJefferson

So I can't wait for that.

SPEAKER_06

Maybe, maybe, uh, maybe Jeffy needs some whole holistic medicine.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, you're gonna give it to me on Monday.

SPEAKER_05

Jeff, I swear to God, when I see you the next time, if you're like, oh yeah, come film this. I'm gonna go in and I'm literally gonna hold you by the hand and I'm gonna be like, feel this, and then I'm gonna tap you on the inside of your wrist until you like sit down and like slump over.

Jeffy McJefferson

Really?

SPEAKER_05

It's gonna be really fun.

Jeffy McJefferson

It's gonna be fun.

SPEAKER_01

I think it is.

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay, I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. Okay, while Ricker combs me out on Monday, you can do that wrist thing, and so we can just kill two birds with one stone.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

And any listeners should try this on someone they know that's anxious and just tap the inside of their wrist slowly at a pulse sensation, and it is the most calming thing.

SPEAKER_06

It is kind of it is it grounds you, it grounds you.

SPEAKER_05

It's very weird.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's kind of kind of nice.

Jeffy McJefferson

And I'll let everybody know the next podcast after I get the comb out on Monday and the wrist tap. It's not happening. I'll let you know how it goes.

SPEAKER_05

It's gonna be full boutique. It's gonna be a full fucking boutique.

SPEAKER_02

Nope.

SPEAKER_05

We're gonna have cucumbers for the eyes, face mask, all of it.

SPEAKER_06

Oh shit. See, now you're giving him ideas and giving Jeff the ideas, it's like I don't know. Does that cucumber?

Skincare Masks Cucumber Myths

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay, real quick, Murray. Does that cucumber thing really work?

SPEAKER_05

No. No.

Jeffy McJefferson

Because you see it all, you see it all the time. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Cucumbers are full of water, so they're really good for hydration. So it's the same as putting like a cream or something under there, but it just keeps it dark, so it's like that. So that's why they've started putting putting like the warmed eye bean patches. Okay. Like the eye patches that are full of beans, but they're warm. They put those on now instead. Because like really they don't do anything, but like if you put moisturizer underneath, they do the same thing. But cucumbers are very moisturizing.

Jeffy McJefferson

But it doesn't work. But it doesn't work, right?

SPEAKER_05

What?

Jeffy McJefferson

It doesn't work. The cucumber thing doesn't work.

SPEAKER_05

No, it can work for inflammation a little bit because they're full of water, but like you really have to put like some crazy cream underneath. And they're more for darkening, darkening and calming the environment.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. So I was like a mask. The environment?

SPEAKER_05

They're a very cheap mask. Like the environment that they're in, if they're not in a dark spa, then you can put cucumbers on their eyes. That's why they're normally like in Mexican spas or like destination spas because it's really sunny and they have a lot of like natural lighting, and so they don't have dark rooms. And so they use those as their mask. But now they use the eye bean patches more because they're like warmed bean bags that are warmed on like a hot stove and they put those on your eyes instead. But the cucumbers are really good because they're darkening and they're cheap and they're moisturizing. So they like help with inflammation and moisture. So Rick in your eyes, like as a woman, like your eyes need the most moisture.

Jeffy McJefferson

Have you had a mask like that, Ricker? It's some kind of mask like that that she's talking about?

SPEAKER_06

I don't think so. I've been I I've had a couple of massages, and I don't remember anything like that.

Jeffy McJefferson

So, Mariah, okay, obviously you know about this mask thing.

SPEAKER_05

I'm actually a skincare addict. I know everything.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, there you go. Yeah, so I've never had like a mask, but I've seen seen it, and they don't they like peel it off and shit like that after a while and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, some of them, like the black masks.

Jeffy McJefferson

I don't know. That's what I'm saying. I don't know. I d I've never had one, so kind of curious how that works.

SPEAKER_05

Well, some of them are exfoliating masks. I would say that the ones where they like peel them off and they're like exfoliating your like deep like blackheads where they're peeling all your blackheads out of your nose, those are fake news. Like, I would say those are not real. I've never seen one work. I do think charcoal masks work because they like suck all of the sulfur and like oil out of your pores, and so they minimize your pores. And then there's a bunch of different ones. Seaweed masks work great. There's like the pink ones that are me, I don't even remember what those are made of. Like seaweed, like the pink, the beef.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

The pink stuff that we used to put on our poison oak.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, uh like uh like Clendomyasin? Is that what uh calamine lotion?

SPEAKER_05

Yes, like a calamine base is also really good because it's also sulfur-y, where it's like the clay hardens and it sucks the stuff out of your pores as it hardens. Um, so there's like some different alternatives. I feel like Lush is a really good brand if you want like natural alternatives. I have really bad skin, so I have to use like prescriptions.

Jeffy McJefferson

You have bad skin. When I when I was every time I look at you, every time I look at your face is like, I would, I wouldn't go like mad. She she fucking needs a fucking mask or whatever. Uh you know, I are you kidding me?

SPEAKER_05

You can ask my dad. This has been an ongoing, like long thing where I like I did sports, I did track, I would sweat, I would get like horrible cystic acne, horrible. Like, not cystic where it was like all over my face, but there would be like two that would just rage out for days. Like my dad actually did make jokes about it one time, and it was like horrifying for me. And I'm not even kidding. I was so sensitive to it. So then I just like really went into deep research about like skincare, and I've taken care of my skin. I've washed my face. I swear to you, probably out of 365 days of year, 350 days a year since I was 12.

Jeffy McJefferson

Just because you're dad?

SPEAKER_05

No.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_05

No, just because my skin was like that, and I was like really like scared about it. Like, you can't believe that. I mean Isn't that wild to think about? My dad can't say something about it. Like you're gonna have to like chime in here because it is.

Jeffy McJefferson

Well, okay, okay, let's let's let's let listeners know. I mean,

Celebrity Lookalikes And Closing

Jeffy McJefferson

who do you think that you know Mariah is is there a celebrity she most resembles? You know, could to kind of give them a perspective on this? What do you guys think?

SPEAKER_01

Who do you think I resemble as a celebrity?

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, gosh, I don't know. I'm not sure.

Jeffy McJefferson

Have you had Barah, have you ever been told that you oh you look like so-and-so and so-and-so?

SPEAKER_05

And I do want to say them, but I feel like they're very big exaggerations for me. Like they're way prettier than I am, but I would say like one that I've gotten a lot is Margo Robbie.

SPEAKER_06

I don't even know who that is. Who is she?

SPEAKER_05

She's like the girl who starred in the Barbie movie and was in Wolf of Wall Street and was like that wife, and then like Brooke, not even, I don't know.

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay, you're gonna say another one. So what's the other one?

SPEAKER_05

But honestly, dad is right. Like, dad used to have bad skin as well, and his skin is like so good now. I'm not even kidding, where I know that it came from his side of the family. Like, I will never forget that. I'm like, God, I'm sicilian and have cystic acne, but I have been obsessive about it since I was 12, and I'm not kidding. I will tell people that. Like, oh, how how are you 35 and you look like this? And I'm like, I wash my face every fucking day. I'm not even kidding.

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay, Ricker, who do you think the celebrity she most resembles?

SPEAKER_06

I don't, I, I don't know. I I she looks like her, she's my daughter. I don't know.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh no, I understand that, but I mean we have the we have to get a perspective for Lister.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know. She's pretty, she's very pretty.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, she is.

SPEAKER_06

I don't, I don't know who she I don't think she looks like anybody. She looks like her. That's that's the way I look at it. She's my baby, she looks like my baby. Um, it's that simple.

SPEAKER_05

And it is weird having kids and looking back on pictures of them when they're babies, and you're like, they look exactly the same, but completely different. That is a really weird phenomenon.

Jeffy McJefferson

Because I do have that on DVR to see who you're talking about. See who you're talking about.

SPEAKER_05

And I feel like listeners should definitely know that.

SPEAKER_06

Like, you don't look exactly the same.

SPEAKER_05

You don't really have a similar nose and like copy and uh and your ball's got some guinea in your skin.

Jeffy McJefferson

I I tell you what, I'll make the judge of that. I mean, she she may what why do you think you you're not as pretty as her? Seriously? It's not like you're you're a troll.

SPEAKER_05

No, I know I'm really pretty, honestly. You are I I do know that, but I feel like celebrities just have this, like they are they have this weird thing about them, this erythral thing about them, like they maybe suck child's blood, or like they might, they might just be touched by like skincare products that are so expensive that I could never imagine them. You know what I mean?

Jeffy McJefferson

Hey, let's do this. Mariah, who is the celebrity that you think Ricker is most resembles?

SPEAKER_05

Who dad most resembles is dad back in the day and John Stamos back in the day. Yes, when they were both in the 90s.

Jeffy McJefferson

When they were both in the 90s, Ricker, man, that's an ultimate compliment right there, dude.

SPEAKER_06

No, you know what?

Jeffy McJefferson

You know who hey dude, grow a mullet, man.

SPEAKER_06

Grow a mullet Booger from freaking Revenge of the Nerds. No, yeah, but yeah. No, no, you don't. Yeah, that that's probably closer to it. John Stamos, man. All right, not John Stamos, no.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, if you see my dad pictures in the 90s and John Stamos, you're like, same, same. Like he had the mullet, John had the mullet. There was like cut-off denim shorts happening, cut off t-shirts with like band names on them. I was like, am I watching Full House in my backyard? Like, I don't know what's happening.

Jeffy McJefferson

You know, holy hell, Ricker.

SPEAKER_06

No, I that's that's she's being complimentary, but it's kind of shaded. So take it with a big grain of salt.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's not shaded. I'm gonna say some fucked up shit about you later, but like in the Well, you ready to wrap this up, Jeffy?

Wrap-Up And Bedtime

Jeffy McJefferson

I think we are. Are you are you ready?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, because I think I think there's children that need to go to bed pretty quick here.

Jeffy McJefferson

Okay, John Stamos. We'll do that then.

SPEAKER_06

Not John Stamos.

Jeffy McJefferson

It's not it's not I can't wait to get to get I can't wait to get that comb out from John Stamos. Zero man.

SPEAKER_05

You know what? More relaxed than you've been in a long time.

SPEAKER_06

Right. Well, I'm not doing it.

Jeffy McJefferson

You know, imagine so badass. I can't believe it. I can't can't wait.

SPEAKER_05

But you have to keep up your end of the bargain, Jeff. And I know this is hard for you, but you have to shower.

Jeffy McJefferson

I shower all the time. Don't worry. I'll shower. I'll shower for John Stamos. What are you gonna fucking kid me?

SPEAKER_03

That's what I'm saying. You have to shower for this celebrity.

Jeffy McJefferson

Oh, dude, I'll do it.

SPEAKER_06

Exit music. Do the exit.

Jeffy McJefferson

Do the exit now? Yes. Oh. Anything for John fucking Stamos, right? Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Autograph.

Jeffy McJefferson

Yeah, thanks for. Yeah, you gotta get Rick's autograph, man. This guy's like apparently. That's that's awesome.
